Family birthday party

 

We drove to the cabin on Sunday afternoon to celebrate Ayla and Cole's birthdays. We were supposed to celebrate Cassie too but she was sick. Ayla turned four years old on the 20th. 

This picture of Cole and Parker makes me smile. Cole is turning 17 years old on the 26th. I still remember going to see him at the hospital when he was born. 

Cam decided to wear two party hats on his head. We had delicious street tacos for dinner. Megan had made fun Kahoot birthday quizzes about Ayla and Cole. 

January highlights

 

Ollie went to the groomer on January 8th. She sent me this funny picture of him snowboarding. On the 13th it marks two years since we brought Ollie home. We love our puppy!

Halle has been interested in buying her own car for awhile now. January 9th was the big day. She bought a Toyota Camry. It has low miles and is in good condition. They detailed it for her and put a big  bow on it. We are happy for her!

I got wallpaper that I had been wanting for Christmas. It took many rolls to cover the 9 foot tall by 19 feet across wall. I need to give a shout out to Kev for doing most of the work. It was completed on January 10th.  I'm happy with how it turned out!

I have made a new years goal to attend the temple more often. I went and participated in an endowment session on January 24th. I love the peace and direction that I receive in the temple. I saw about ten people I knew that day. It was nice to catch up with my old neighbors Janice and Ben. I made the comment that the two top places to run into people you know are at Costco and the temple.

Parker's flights

 

Parker has been on several solo flights since the new year started. We are happy for him!

He flew to Fillmore on Tuesday January 20th. He got me this cool flight tracker app on my phone. 

I got this 3D image of him landing on the runway. 

He went on another flight to Richfield on Thursday the 22nd. He is the orange plane in this picture. 

He said that his second flight went smoother than the first. He even called me from the air. How cool is that?!? He is getting close to having 40 flight hours.

Kev got discounted tickets to the BYU verses Utah basketball game. We were all looking forward to the game!

We invited Parker and Addy to go with us since they are also BYU fans. We got dinner at Crown Burger before the game. Several BYU fans spotted us wearing our true blue and asked if we were going to the game. 

Not long after we got there, I saw my brother Mike. Parker said that I shouted Mike and then b-lined it through the crowd to get to him. It was fun running into him! He was there with friends from work. 

It was my time ever entering the Huntsman Center arena. It was awesome to see how much BYU was represented in the crowd. The BYU chants were strong that night. 

Parker took this picture of us in a sea of red. It was an exciting game! The Utes played better than we thought they would. The game was neck and neck which made it exciting. Parker lost his voice from all the cheering. It was BYU for the win that night!
