A day to LOVE!!

I look forward to Valentines day every year!  Kev and I always try to make it memorable for each other.  He brought these beautiful flowers home for me!  It always makes me happy to have fresh smelling flowers in the house.  I gave Kev an assortment of pastries for his sweet tooth.

We decided to go to Tepanyaki for dinner.  It was our first time.  It was an exciting dining experience.  Since I am a pyro, I really enjoyed having my food cooked in front of me.  It was entertainment and food at the same time.  Our chef was telling jokes, singing songs, and tossing food at us.  I was impressed when Kev caught shrimp in his mouth two times in a row.  It was a funny hidden talent that I didn't know he had.  I was disappointed when my shrimp hit my chin and fell on the floor.  What a waste of good shrimp.  We were both impressed with our food.  We tried steak, shrimp, and scallops "Nemo's cousin" according to our chef.  We even made some friends with the couple sitting next to us.  We will be eating again there in the future.

Mckenna gave me the best Valentines present.  She watched the kids while we went out for the night.  She bought suckers for all the kids at the school store.  It was so kind of her!  It made Hayden and Addy's day.  They were so big that Addy could barely fit it in her mouth.  It was a fun day at our house.  I love my family!

Parker wins first place!!

Parker was excited to start cub scouts! It is fun seeing him all dressed up in his scout shirt.  He is already on his way to earning his rank of wolf.

A month ago the primary president brought by his pinewood derby kit.  Kev and Parker put in many hours working on it.  It was good father/son bonding time.  It started out as a plain block of wood and turned into...

this sleek, shiny, blue machine.

Parker getting his car weighed in. This was also his first pack meeting so they had him stand up on a chair to officially welcome him into the pack.(which also included spraying him with water)

I snapped this picture of Parker's car already past the finish line while the others are just approaching.  His car was really fast.

The excitement grew as Parker's car won every heat it raced.  Kev was one proud Dad.  Here he is talking with the other Dads.

Then the final scoreboard was up...Parker won first place out of the entire cub scouts!! His car had reached up to 167mph.

We were so excited for him!  He stood up on the chair while we all applauded and cheered for him!  He definitely had a "taste of the glory!!"

Here he is with his victory smile!  The other boys were really nice and kept coming up to congratulate him.  They also wanted a turn to race the winning car!

No one was prouder of Parker than his own Dad!  They both worked so hard to get this car ready for the race.  They make an awesome team!  We have many scouting adventures to look forward to!

Love my sister!!

My sister came home to Utah for a little over a week. I was so happy!  It had been over seven long months since I had seen her last.  We always try to pack in as much fun as we can while she is here. One night we went to dinner with our Grandma and cousin Kate.  We had dinner at a place called Mazza.  The food was really good.  Mediterranean food is one of my favorites. 

It was fun having her come to the cabin with us.  She hadn't been up in years.  She wore one of the classic 70's jumpsuits that are stored at the cabin.  We always have the greatest time just hanging out together. We watched movies, ate yummy desserts, went out to eat, took pictures, played games, and spent hours talking and catching up.
