General Women's Meeting

Our ward had tickets to attend the General Women's meeting for our church.  I was one of the first to tell the Bishop that I wanted some tickets.  I wanted Mckenna and Halle to have the experience of being there in the conference center.  The meeting was on Saturday September 24th.

We enjoyed this view of the temple as we waited in line to get into the conference center.  We got in right as the opening song was beginning.

It had been years since I was in the conference center I had forgotten how big it is.  The girls were both impressed.  Mckenna commented on how the seats were nice and soft.  The talks were spiritually uplifting.  Halle and I both took notes as we listened.  I find that I get more out of it when I listen and take notes.  I also enjoy going back and reading what I wrote.

I am so glad I got to have this experience with my girls.  I know that they will always remember it.  The Salt Lake Temple looked amazing all lite up after we came out from the session.

Since we were in downtown Salt Lake we decided to stop by and visit my Grandma.  She had cookies and ice cream for us.  We enjoyed talking and spending some time together.  I am glad my girls are getting to spend time with their Grandma Great.

Fall colors!

On Saturday September 17th Kev and I went four wheeling together to see the Fall leaves.  We drove up Squaw Peak road and then four wheeled the rest of the way.

It was a beautiful Fall day and the temperature outside was not too hot not too cold but just how I like it.  We stopped to enjoy this view looking down on Rock Canyon.

We four wheeled on another trail that was more steep. It took us to the start of the trail head to Provo Peak.  The Aspens were starting to turn yellow up there.

I took this picture looking back at Mount Timpanogos.  I still look at that mountain with respect after having hiked it this Summer.

It was a fun and adventurous date for the both of us.  We also stopped and got a Carmel apple before we headed back home.

Family week

Our Stake President decided that the first week of every month would be "Family Week".  All church meetings and activities are not held that week so we can spend more time focusing on our families.  We decided to go mini golfing together at Trafalga.

It was a beautiful day and and we had fun together.  My favorite part was when Addy hit her golf ball into the pond.  Kev was a good sport and fished it out for her.

You had to have closed toe shoes to go on the race cars.  Parker was desperate so he borrowed my shoes. We switched and I wore his flip flops.  I was surprised that they almost fit me.  When did 

Parker's feet get so big?  Just one of the many signs that he is growing up fast.

It was Hayden's firs time riding the race cars.  He loved it and caught on to it fast.  It was fun to see both him and Parker cruising around together.

Mckenna and Halle had never been on this free fall ride before.  It was a lot slower than expected.  It made me smile to just see them chilling there and having a conversation.  The Frog Hopper ride inside is more of a thrill.

Our whole family went on the carousel ride together.  Addy wanted to ride the horse of course.

Labor Day Weekend!

We went up to the cabin for some of Labor day weekend.  I had fun cruising around on the four wheeler with my Parker boy.

It was fun having Uncle Spencer, Grandma, and Grandpa up there with us too.  Addy loved going for horse rides on our new horse Rosie with Uncle Spence!

On Saturday cousin Heidi and her kids came down to ride horses with us.  Halle and Karly are close in age and they had fun riding together and playing in the barn.

Kev taught Mckenna how to harness and saddle the horses.  I got to go for a ride on our new horse Zeba.  

Parker was glad to have a chance to drive Grandpa Ken around on the four wheeler.

Mckenna and I left that afternoon to drive down for Swiss days. My friend Cindy had a booth this year called Beebledeebop.  She also wrote her own book which was the main reason why I wanted to go.  I bought a copy for Addy and she wrote a message and signed it for her!

It was fun to be there with Mckenna!  We did some shopping and got treats.  Mckenna was very happy with her giant scone. I had a slice of apple pie with ice cream.  I thought about my sister-in-law  Lisa a lot while we were there.  There were so many years she was involved in Swiss days.  It brought back a lot of memories and made me miss her even more.

On Labor day we went to my Dad's for our last swim party of the year and bbq.  It was good times with the fam!  Cousin Emily came over for awhile too.  I made homemade peach ice cream with the peaches off our tree.  It was a hit! It was the perfect way to officially end Summer!
