Why I love March...

1. Kev proposed to me on March 3, 2001! It was one of the most exciting days of my life. You can see how happy we were by the huge smiles on our faces. Sorry the picture isn't very good it was back in the days before we had a digital camera. I guess that shows how long ago it was!

2. On March 2, 2007 I gave birth to my beautiful Halle Jane. It brought me such joy to hold such a sweet baby straight from heaven. We were so happy to have another girl in the family and a sister for Mckenna.

3. We always look forward to the girl scout cookies arriving every March. They are happiness in a box. The thin mints are our favorite and always the first to go.


4. I love looking in my yard every March and seeing the tulips coming up out of the soil. It is a sign of new life and all that I have to look forward to! I am so glad that Spring is here!

Mischief

It seems that every child goes through a stage were they are extra mischievious. My kids have colored on walls, put things in the toilet, unrolled all the toilet paper, ate dirt, and flooded the bathroom. There are plenty more that I am just not remembering off the top of my head. Today we had a new adventure, Halle decided to stick a tic tac up her nose. I give her tic tacs as a reward for good behavior when we are out shopping. I had just got on the freeway when she told me that the tic tac was in her nose. I was really hoping she was teasing me. When we got to the next store I took a look and could see it. It wasn't too far up so I tried to get it out with my finger. I had no luck. I was going to have to wait until we got home to try the tweezers. I wasn't going to take her to the doctor's office unless I had to. Who knows how much they would charge me to get it out. She sneezed a lot as we were driving home and her nose was running. When we got home I could barely see it. We were lucky and she was able to blow the remains of the tic tac out her nose. I am sure we will look back on this and laugh. This incident brought back a funny memory of my brother Mike. When he was little he put a red hot candy up his nose. We still like to tease him about it. Well, this was a first and it probably won't be last. I hope Halle has learned a lesson from this. I won't be giving her any tic tacs for awhile.

What to do on a cold, wet, March day....

We decided to take the kids to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving point. It had been years since the last time that we went. Mckenna was Halle's age and Parker was just one. They had a great time exploring together!

Mckenna and Halle had a great time playing in the sand and water. I thought this was a a cute picture of both of them.

Mckenna decided that she was going to make her own island. She worked hard at it until it wrapped around for about ten feet. Some of the other kids saw what she was doing and joined the cause.

Parker, Kev, and Hayden hung out at the computers. Parker enjoyed all the different games you can play.

The kids had fun climbing on and touching everything. The great thing about this museum is that it's interactive.

We had to include a picture of the kids excavating bones. Mckenna and Parker decided it was faster to just use their hands. In the end I think they were just having fun kicking up the sand. We bought a family season pass while we were there. We had Christmas money from our grandparents and thought this would be fun for all of us. I am really looking forward to the tulip festival which starts the end of next month. If anyone wants to meet us there sometime we can get you in for half the price.

Halle is three!!!

Our little Halle turned three yesterday! She has grown up so much this last year. She has left the toddler years behind and is now a little girl. We went to pick out her birthday balloons earlier that day. She told everyone at the store, "today is my burtday and I am free!"

We had a party that night for her at our house. She was so excited for cousin Aubrey to come to her birthday party. She is always telling me that cousin Aubrey is her best friend. It was so cute to see them having fun together.

I made Halle a barn cake with animal cupcakes. I had a lot of fun decorating all the animals. I was smart and started on them the night before the party so I wouldn't have as much to do the next day.

Halle got a lot of fun new toys. She is really into strawberry shortcake right now. It was Mckenna's favorite at this age too. She got a new pool, car, and cafe for strawberry shortcake. Today we had fun playing with all her new toys. We are so glad to have Halle as a part of our family. She is our little sweetheart. She is so thoughtful of others. If anyone gets hurt she is always the first one there to ask if they are okay and give them a big hug. We love our Halle Jane!
