February highlights

 

I love this picture of Ollie that I took on February 10th. I read this quote and it reminded me of Ollie, "Roses are red, Violets are blue, I'll steal your socks and your underwear too." I caught Ollie with Halle's sock in his mouth the other day. I tried to get it out of his mouth but he ended up swallowing it. The vet told us he would either throw it up or it would come out the other end. Three days later he threw up not one sock but three! I don't know how it all fit in there. We were relieved that he didn't need surgery to remove it. 

Halle and I went to a BYU basketball game on February 15th. We got some dinner and enjoyed the game. They ended up winning. The cougars are having an awesome basketball season. I enjoyed having this time with just Halle! I can't believe that she will be 18 in a couple of weeks.  

I love it when Parker comes home to visit! He came home to have Sunday dinner with us on February 16th. He bought a new motorcycle helmet and wanted to show it to us. We laughed and told him that he looks like Megamind!

Hayden and I were able to spend some time together on February 21st. I asked him where he wanted to eat at and he chose JCW's. We hadn't been in a long time and we both enjoyed the cheese fries and a shake. It brought back fun memories of when Kenna and Parker worked there. We went home and watched the movie, The River Wild. He had never seen it before. 

Addy had a choir concert on February 27th. We enjoy hearing her sing! I also had fun hanging out with my friend Kristen at the concert. Kev took Addy and Paige to get drinks at Quench It after the performance. 

Galentines party

 

 I went to Brekke's Galantine's party on Saturday February 22nd. I always enjoy spending time with these awesome women!

Justine made one of her famous cakes this year. It looked adorable and tasted delicious!

It was Kenna's first time joining us! I loved having her come with me!

Erin was showing off Brekke's cute tea pot cozy. 

She gave us all refills of hot chocolate. 

We made heart and bow garlands for our craft this year. 

It was fun taking some pictures with Kenna. I hadn't seen her since Christmas and it is rare to have some time just with her. 

A huge shout out to Bestie Brekke for another fun Galentine's! 

Valentine's Day

 

I love this picture that cousin April took of us! It sums up our adventures lately of going for walks with our dog. 

I read this quote recently. It really resonates with me. 

It was nice that Valentine's fell on Kev's Friday off from work. We had a reservation in the afternoon to eat at the Harvest Restaurant. 

I got the butternut squash ravioli and Kev got a steak. 

We ordered the Nutella cheesecake for dessert. There was a table of older people next to us. It made us smile to hear their conversations. That is the crowd you get when you go out to lunch. 

I put hearts on all of the kids doors with written things that I love about them. It was another fun and memorable Valentine's Day!

Ski day

 

The kids had Friday February 7th off from school. We had bought day passes for skiing at Brighton. The canyon was snowy and there was an excessive amount of traffic. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get up the canyon. 

We were all getting stir crazy in the car. Parker hopped out to walk around for awhile. 

When we finally got to Brighton there was still a long line to get in the parking lot. Parker, Hayden and I got out and walked the rest of the way with our ski gear. We had planned on day skiing but by the time we got there it was night skiing. 

There was some fresh powder from the storm. It was nice to finally be able to ski!

I took a picture of all our Elan brand ski's. Parker got a great discount on buying ski's through his work. I got my blue ski's last season. Hayden got Parker's old ski's that are still in good condition. 

I texted Kev and he said that they had only moved a few car lengths and were still not in the parking lot. Hayden and I went back to the car so that Kev and Addy could ski for awhile. 

They had fun skiing together. Addy hadn't skied in awhile but she was doing great by the end of the night. 

Hayden and I just hung out in the car and slowly inched forward. A woman knocked on our car window. She and her daughter asked if we would like some snacks and a drink. They had a cabin nearby and were handing out supplies to all the people stuck waiting in their cars. It was really kind of them! It  made a not fun situation better. 

They skied until the lift closed. Parker came back to the car with a frozen mustache. 

While they were skiing, I watched as a car behind us came next to us, made a 10 point turn, and then left. I told Kev and Parker and they decided to walk it and see if we really could exit that way. Parker was impressed how Kev maneuvered our large expedition around and then out of the employee parking lot, and then back to the main road. If he hadn't tried we might have been there most of the night. We got some dinner at Canes before heading home. Our ski trip did not turn out like we thought it would. We spent more time in the car than we did on the slopes.  Kev reached out to Brighton resort and they gave us ski passes to use for another time because of our unpleasant experience. 

Baby shower

 

Brekke and I threw our friend, Holly, a baby shower on Saturday February 1st! 

This is her second child and first baby boy. When she told us that she would be naming him Fox I was so happy. 

I knew that her shower should have a Woodland theme. I loved planning and shopping with Brekke. It was fun to see all the details come together. 

I made these cupcakes for the food table. 

It was fun hanging out with so many of my old neighbors. It was also nice to meet Hollys mom who is on the right.

Holly got so many cute presents. I gave her a baby outfit and the book The Fox and the Hound. 

Holly's sister-in-law made her this stack of onesies with her Silhouette machine. Prison Mike for the win!

The sweetest gift was from Holly's grandma. She finished this quilt just days before she passed away. We loved being able to throw Holly this baby shower. We can't wait to meet her baby boy in a couple of weeks!
