Conference Weekend

 

Bishop Barson reached out and asked us if we would like six tickets to conference. It was a tender mercy for us to be able to go. 

We went to the September 30th Saturday morning session. Kev offered to stay home with Halle since she wasn't feeling good. 

It was Addy's first time visiting the conference center and she even took notes. It was a powerhouse session of conference! These are some of the things that stood out to me; serve faithfully and quietly, because of Jesus Christ everything will be okay, we will feel happier with the gospel of Jesus Christ, we bind ourselves to him through sacred ordinances and covenants, where there is a design, there is a designer. I'm grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

It was sweet to see Kenna and Bryson holding hands as we walked back to the car. I took the kids to eat at Crowne Burger after the session. 

We watched the next two sessions at home. It was nice to be able to relax and take it easy. 

I spotted our cousin Lindsey Grant in the evening session. It was fun to see her on our TV! She sang with the YA choir that night. 

The next morning we had our conference breakfast at Mike and Amy's house. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures. That afternoon, Bryson's sister, Alli, came over to our house. She and Bryson worked on our puzzle. It was a hard one, and I was impressed how much they got done. We had a nice dinner together that night. It was so great to have Kenna and Bryson home with us for the weekend!!

Frightmares

 

We went to Lagoon on Saturday September 23rd! We got discount tickets through Kev's work. We needed to get out and do something fun as a family. 

The new ride Primordial had just opened. The line was only for season pass holders and the wait was around four hours. Parker has a season pass but he didn't want to wait in the crazy line. We went and rode Cannibal instead. 

Kev and most of the kids wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. This is my least favorite ride because of my fear of heights and dangling above the ground. Halle also doesn't like it so we went on another ride together. 

Bumper cars is always a favorite. Parker, Addy, and Hayden were in bumper car traffic jam. 

I went to take this picture of Parker and Addy and this is how he posed. I promise he is not afraid of this ride. 

Our old neighbor Emily was working at Lagoon that day. She likes to earn some extra money on the weekends. It was fun visiting with her at the pizza booth. 

She even gave us a free cheese pizza to share. It was really nice of her!

Halle was not feeling the greatest that day. She has been having unexplained abdominal pain for a while now. We took turns sitting with her when she wasn't able to go on a ride. 

Kev, Parker, and Hayden are the only ones the love to ride the Rock o Planes. 

It was fun to see all the pumpkins lite up at night. We also enjoyed all the haunted houses that they create just for Frightmares. 

You are never too old to ride Puff the Magic Dragon. It was one of my favorite rides when I was a kid. 

Home sweet home

 

We went up to visit Kenna and Bryson on Friday September 15th! We had never been to their apartment. 

It was fun to see where they live. I was impressed with Mckenna's decorating skills. It is a two bedroom apartment that is not too far from campus. This doormat she has made me laugh. It says, "Welcome-ISH, depends who you are and how long you stay. 

We went to dinner at a restaurant on the main street. It was nice to eat outside on the patio together. We enjoyed hearing about Kenna and Bryson's Yellowstone getaway with friends. 

We went back to their place to play some games. We played Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza. They also taught us how to play another card game. It was such a fun night hanging out with the kids! We always love spending time with Kenna and Bryson! It brings comfort to my heart, to know that they are doing good and are happy.

Pretty in Pink

 

Halle got asked to the Homecoming dance! We had fun shopping together. I love that she chose a pink dress. 

The Homecoming dance was on Saturday September 9th! Jordan Brown from our ward asked her. 

They went to the Aquarium and In n Out for their day date. Then they went to dinner at Cubbys and the dance.

I loved seeing Halle all dressed up and looking beautiful!

It was fun that Halle was in the same group as her ballroom friends Addie and Ray. 

Halle's new job

 

Halle got her first job! She is working at Quench It. Our family has been going there for years. 

She is working part time right now. She was so excited to get her first paycheck. We love visiting her at work! It was fun leaving her a big tip. Since Halle started working there, I have branched out and tried some new drinks. The two I have tried are Peach on the beach, and the Voudoo. We are proud of Halle!!
