Thanksgiving day!!

We spent Thanksgiving day at Kev's parents house.  The kids had a good time eating with all their cousins.  It was fun having Heather and her boys there too.

It was nice having Dave and Tracey's family here from Texas.

Spencer wanted us to open up the Christmas package he sent from his mission.  He thought it would be best since most of us were together that day.  We missed having Dan there with us.  He had to work back in Washington.

Spencer bought us all t-shirts from the Oakley store in California.  I really like the color he gave me.

 

Kev decided to take Spencer's motorcycle out for a ride.  I even got the chance to go for a ride.

 

Mckenna was nice enough to take some pictures of us.

 

It was a lot of fun.  It had been awhile since I had been on a motorcycle ride.  We had a fun day celebrating with family!

Mckenna had another piano recital on Monday November 18th.  She performed a piece called Russian Sailor dance.  She played without making any mistakes. She never seems to be nervous which is nice.  I think I am always more nervous for her.

 My father-in-law played "Johnnie B. Good" with the band.  It was awesome! His fingers were moving up and down the keyboard so fast.  The whole audience was clapping along.  The music just made you want to get up and dance.  I wish I would have video recorded it. 

 

It is fun that Mckenna can perform in Grandpa's recitals.  It was nice because most of my family was able to come to the performance.  We went to Coldstone after for some ice cream.

Sunday afternoon at home...

I went to see what the girls were up to and found this sweet sight.  Halle had fallen asleep while reading her Ramona book.  I went and got the camera so I could take some pictures.  I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures since Halloween two weeks earlier.  When I told Mckenna she said, "Mom, that has got to be a record for you." 

So I decided to take some pictures of our family just hanging out together at home.  The kids had fun playing a game of Monopoly together.

 

Kev got out his electric train set that he has had since he was a kid.  Hayden saw it in the basement once and had been begging Kev to set it up ever since.

The kids wrote up their Christmas lists for me.  Mckenna and Halle taped theirs right on the door.  A friend reminded me that there are only five weeks left until Christmas.  I have a lot of shopping left to do.

I am thankful for Primary!!

I am grateful for my calling in Primary!  I get to teach the Valiant 9 class in my ward.  We have twenty kids in our class.  It has been fun teaching them from the Doctrine and Covenants this year.  I have learned so much right along with them.  I get the opportunity to share my testimony with them each week.  They are at such a great age.  They are old enough to read well from the scriptures and they like to participate in class discussions.  It makes me so happy when I see my Primary kids at school or around the neighborhood during the week.  They always greet me with a friendly, "Hi Sister Foster!"  We had our Primary program on Sunday.  The kids had been working so hard to learn their parts and all the songs.  The program went so well.  It was fun because it was Hayden's first Primary program.  He looked so cute standing up with all the sunbeams.  He didn't know all the words to the songs but was just smiling away.  It was Mckenna's last Primary program.  It is hard to believe that in about six months she will be twelve and off to Young Womens.  The closing song of the program was "A Childs prayer".  All of us teachers sang the Pray he is there part while the kids sang the other part.  The spirit was so strong in the room.  I know that the Primary songs are inspired.  When the kids sing the spirit is always so strong.  I was one proud Mom on Sunday.  Not only of my own kids, but all my primary kids too.

I took some pictures of Addy before we left for the parade.  I was so happy that she decided to wear her Minnie mouse ears.  She refused to wear them when we were at Disneyland.

It was fun being at Hayden's preschool program.  They sang "I'm a mean old witch with a hat".  Hayden's favorite part was when they shouted out BOO!

Mckenna made her own costume again this year.  It turned out really great.

 

She and her friend Tessa had a bake sale at the end of summer to earn money for their costumes.  They earned around fifty dollars in just one afternoon.  They bought shoes, feathers, earrings, and lipstick, and fake eyelashes.

Halle all dressed up for the big night.  Mckenna wore this costume when she was her age.  It has gotten some good use.
