This is Halloween

Kev and Halle went to the daddy daughter monster mash on October 17th.  They had a great time together!  Kev was a good sport to dress up and dance to Thriller.

Addy had her first school parade on Halloween morning.  It was cute to see her all dressed up.  She was a pink and black fairy this year.

I went back again in the afternoon to see Hayden and Halle in their parade.  Hayden was dressed up as a Jedi.  We love Star Wars at our house.

Halle was dressed up in her pirate costume again.  It was fun because Mr. Smith her teacher was dressed up as Captain Hook this year.  Halle said he told her she was his, "first mate".  

Parker had a hard time deciding what to dress up as this year.  It was the first year I told him I was not buying another costume.  He decided to be a cowboy.  It was fun because he is wearing his Great Grandpa Fosters cowboy hat and boots.

We got a few pictures of the kids all together before they went trick or treating with their friends.

Hayden had fun taking the light saber around with him the rest of the night.

I asked Addy to pose and this is what I got.  She had fun trick or treating with her Dad and Hayden.

I decided to get dressed up at the last minute.  We had borrowed this pirate costume from my Dad and Loni.

It was fun being a pirate with Halle.  Abby Udy took some fun pictures of us together.

Halle was so excited that Maddi was around to go trick or treating with her this year.  I thought this picture was cute of the two of them.

Mckenna dressed up as a nerd this year. She even wore one of my old sweater vests from high school.  

She looked great and it was fun seeing what she came up with.

Hayden's best friend Mason was dressed up as Darth Vader.  We had to get some pictures of them at battle.

I love seeing all the pumpkins lit up at night on our porch.

I had fun handing out candy to all the neighbor kids.  It was great seeing some of my primary kids come by.  Our kids came home happy and with lots of candy.  Parker beat his record from last year with 13 pounds of candy.

Addy's sixth birthday!

Our sweet Addy turned six years old on Tuesday October 24th.  Unfortunately, she woke up with a fever.  She cried when I told her that she couldn't go to school.  It broke my heart to hear her cry.  I promised her that they would celebrate her birthday when she went back to school.  She didn't stay sad for too long though.  She enjoyed watching movies on my Ipad in bed.  She also was happy to wear the birthday princess crown.

I read Addy some books later that afternoon.  I was reading her the "Happy birthday to you" book when she fell asleep in my arms.  I loved having the chance to just hold her close while she slept for awhile.

Dad brought home pizza and salad for her birthday dinner.  Addy loves salad!  She even orders it when we go out to eat.

I decided to make her birthday cake even though she was sick and couldn't have her party with extended family.  I am just grateful she could still eat on her birthday. I made her a Rapunzel cake.  

My Dad was the only one that came by the house and risked getting sick.  It made Addy's day to have him there! He brought her a Moana doll that was also from Grandma Loni and Kayley.

We gave Addy her first American Girl doll named Willa.  I love the excitement on her little face when she opens up her presents.

We had our traditional picture with Addy and the cake.  I can't believe that our baby is now six years old.

Addy even told me that this was, "the best day ever"!!  I was impressed to hear her say that after being sick all day and not being able to go to school.  It just shows how happy and what a positive attitude she has.  We love our little sunshine!

Fall break

We have always wanted to hike the Y with our kids. We thought Fall break would be the best time to make it happen.  Mckenna, Kev, and I were the only ones that had hiked it before.  The kids did great.  We just took many stops along the way.

They all wanted a turn at the telescope.  It was a new addition since the last time we hiked it a few years ago. 

Parker and Hayden practically ran to the top and were the first to get to the Y.

We had a snack and enjoyed the view when we made it to the top.

I tried laying upside down too.  It was the weirdest feeling lying upside down at 45 degree angle.

We had a family picture taken of all of us. The majority of us were also wearing our BYU shirts.  We are a true blue family.

One of the highlights of Fall break was going to the Red Barn pumpkin patch in Santaquin.

It was fun having Loni, Kayley, Mike, Amy and the kids come.  It was the first time that any of us had been there.

Hayden had fun pedaling these cars around the dirt track.

They were hard to get going so Amy gave Mike a push.

The kids loved sliding down on these burlap sacks. The expression on Addy's face says it all.

Kev's favorite part was the apple gun.

Parker was aiming for the apple.  You could also shoot at the barrels too.

The whole family went through the corn maze.  Addy, Elle, and Hayden all ran off ahead of us.  We found Addy and Elle but not Hayden.  When we got out of the maze he was not back and no one had seen him.  I was worried and so we sent Kev back in to look for him.  He looked for over a half hour and couldn't find him.  We started to tell other adults going into the maze that our son was lost and wearing a red Oshkosh jacket.  We were relieved when one of the men found him.  I gave Hayden a big hug and told him how worried we were. I really hope he learned his lesson about not going off on his own.

Addy, Hailey, and Elle had fun running around together.  They are the cutest cousins!

We went to the patch for the the kids to pick out their pumpkins.  They found some great ones that will be good for carving.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go to the Red Barn was to try their apple cider donuts.  It was really good.  We liked every dessert we tried there.  Parker got an apple cider slushie with ice cream.  Mckenna tried the raspberry cheesecake ice cream. Just thinking about it right now makes me want to go back.

We went up to the cabin for a couple days at the end of the break.  The kids had fun walking along the river.

They got in several horse rides with their Dad.

Parker enjoyed shooting his clay pigeons in the field.  Megan and Spencer even came up had dinner with us one night.  The kids loved having them there.

We made a stop at High Mountain Drug for dinner on the way home.  We had heard good things about it from many people saying it was the best burger they ever had.  Parker found this great reading material on the table.  It was called, "Understanding Women".  Our favorite burger that we tried was called the Gone burger.  It had onion rings, bacon, and bbq sauce on it.

The colors of the wind

We came home from church and a ton of leaves had fallen off our Ash tree.  The kids couldn't wait to get out of the car and play in them.

They had the best time raking them up and throwing them up in the air.  I loved seeing the look of pure joy on their faces.

Hayden even climbed up the tree and started shaking the branches so the leaves would rain down on us.  The Disney song, "The colors of the wind" kept running through my mind as we enjoyed the moment.
