State Ballroom Competition

Halle had her State Ballroom Competition on Saturday February 25th.  It was held at Cedar Valley High School this year. Halle competed in Syllabus with her friend Logan. They even moved up several rounds.

I was there helping with the snack table that afternoon and night. It was nice of Madi to help Halle with her hair.

Their Jive dance is always fun to watch and gets the audience cheering loud.

They did awesome with their V-waltz dance!

Their team got an award for 4th place!!
\
Halle got to go up and accept the award on behalf of the team.

I loved seeing the dresses they wore for their Medley dance.

It has been memorable for Halle to compete with the Varsity team this year!

I need to give a shout out to Coach Spencer and assistant Coach Deborah. We appreciate all they do for our kids!
I took this video clip of Halle and her friends dancing on the bleachers. I had fun hanging out with Kristen that night. She was there to watch Sydney perform.

Everyone got face paint on for the school dance off competition. Westlake took home first place for best dancing overall! Halle danced from 8:30 in the morning to 11:30 that night!

Milestones for Parker

Zoey asked Parker to the Sweethearts dance back in January. They started dating in December and now Zoey is Parker's girlfriend! Zoey came to to pick him up for the dance on Saturday February 11th.

Zoeys mom made the boutonniere and corsage. They look so cute together! Parker said this about their date, "best date that I have ever been on BY FAR! Thank you Zoey for asking me! I had the time of my life!"
Parker had his wisdom teeth removed on Friday February 17th. It also happened to be a day that they had off from school.
He didn't seem nervous at all. He compared his IV to the needle they use for plasma. Halle came with me so she could film while I drove home. She played the music Ugway Ascends from the movie Kung Fu Panda. It helped Parker relax before the surgery. When Parker woke up from the Anesthesia he swore a couple of times. Then he apologized profusely for swearing. He asked the surgeon how much money he made. He was hitting on the women that were working that day.

He was also a lot more emotional than Kenna was. He facetimed Zoey and told her how much he loved her. He also talked with her mom and thanked her for raising a beautiful daughter. Kev helped him out of the car and into the house.

Parker spent most of the day on the couch recovering. We put on the movie Cars for him to watch. It was his favorite childhood movie. I love that he was bopping his head to the music and making hand motions. It was hilarious!

Later than night, we found out that Parker got into BYU!!! We are so excited for him! He is planning on going to school there after his mission. He will be the fourth generation of our family to attend college there. I took this picture of him at a BYU game when he was four. He has always cheered for the cougars!
Parker was happy to get a package in the mail from BYU! They gave him a beanie and this banner. We are so proud of Parker!

Valentine's Day

Kev and I celebrated our 22nd Valentine's Day together. I love this picture that April took! It is nice to have an updated picture of the two of us.

Addy started working on her Valentine's day box a couple of weeks in advance. She worked hard and it turned out awesome. She had several kids at school tell her they liked her piƱata. I told her to take that as a compliment. It looked like it was bought from a store.

I was happy to help with her class party that afternoon. We played several Minute to Win it games. This one was called face heart. We also played a game called cupids arrow.

The last game was the human love knot. It was fun to see the kids laughing and having fun together.

I bought the kids some cookies from Crumbl. They had good flavors this week.

Parker watched the kids so Kev and I go could go out that night. He even took Addy to her swim lesson. Kev gave me these beautiful roses.

We went to dinner at a new place called Edna's. Our friends the Swensons had told us about it. The wait wasn't long which was nice. I liked everything we tried. The food is home cooking and comfort food. I tried the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. All of their beef comes from local farms. Kev enjoyed his food too. We came home and used our hot tub. It was so cold and windy! My hair was frozen in places and my hydro bottle lid was frozen shut. I love celebrating holidays!

Say yes, to the dress

We went wedding dress shopping on Saturday February 11th! It was fun to have Kenna's maid of honor Brooke with us. The first place we went to was the Bridal Center in Lehi. They had Kenna look at some pictures to choose which style of dress she wanted to try on.

Kenna looked beautiful in all of them! There were so many different styles to choose from.

The next place was Sweetheart Bridal in Provo. They had a fancy dressing room there.

I also convinced Halle to try on a prom dress while we were there. I can't believe she will be sixteen next month! Kenna asked both Halle and Addy to be her bridesmaids.

The next store we went to was Allyses in Provo. We had been to this store before to get Kenna her prom dress.

Addy convinced Brooke to try on a wedding dress too. It brought back fun memories of the two of them trying on dresses back in 2019.
Addy even had them put these giant white bows in their hair. We went and got some dinner afterwards. It was such a fun girls night out together! Kenna took some time after this to think about what dress she wanted the most. You will just have to wait to find out which dress she chose!

Kenna is engaged!!

Bryson proposed to Mckenna on Wednesday February 8th!! I was so happy when they Facetimed to tell me the news!

Bryson took her up Logan Canyon to see the tree where they had carved their initials in before her mission. He had all these roses set up in the snow. I love that he got down on one knee to propose! His sister and her roommates were hiding in the trees to take pictures.

Mckenna and Bryson had been ring shopping and he knew what Kenna wanted. He got the ring earlier than expected. Kenna was really surprised when she saw the ring! He also had his sister invite Kenna over for a Galentine's party to paint nails ahead of time.

Kenna said she cried when he proposed. She also said this in her Instagram post, "Took you long enough. I finally get to marry this boy! I can't wait! Love you long time xx

Kenna and Bryson met at Utah State in the Fall of 2020 and started dating. I love how supportive he was of Kenna going on a mission. He waited the 18 months for her. They started dating again when she got home. We have enjoyed getting to know Bryson better. He is easy to talk to, thoughtful, fun to be around, and he takes good care of Kenna. We are excited for them to get married this Summer!!

Weekend getaway

Kenna and Bryson came down for the weekend on Friday February 3rd.  All of us girls went to Emily's baby shower that Saturday morning. We are excited for Emily to have her cute baby girl in a few weeks! While we were at the shower, Bryson talked with Kev and asked if he could marry Kenna! Kev surprised me with the news when we got home.

We went up the cabin for the rest of the weekend. It was Byson's first time coming with us.

It was Bryson's first time going snowmobiling. I can't believe that he will propose to Kenna any day now!
I took this picture right before the sun went down. Winter at the cabin is beautiful!

The boys had fun making snow angels. There was even more snow up there since Christmas.

This was a rare occasion of Parker taking a nap at the cabin. He started working on his missionary portal this weekend.

Everyone had fun playing games while we were at the cabin. We always play Rummikub and it reminds us of Grandma Foster.
Parker took this picture of us girls hanging out.

Then he took this selfie of him and Bryson.

It was great to see the kids hanging out and having fun together.

I got this great video of Kenna and Bryson going down the tubing hill. They wiped out hard at the bottom.

Hayden made this awesome snowman. I love his creativity!

I enjoyed warming up in the cabin with this cup of hot chocolate. It was a memorable weekend together.
