Our Kindergarten Graduate!

Hayden graduated from Kindergarten on Thursday May 21st. Kev worked from home that morning so he could be there.

They had a cute program where they sang songs.  One of my favorites was called "Buckle up".  It is cute because Hayden has been singing them around the house and in the car lately.

Grandma Loni came to show her love for Hayden.  She also gave him a card with dollar bills which he was really excited about.

We had treats after the ceremony in Hayden's classroom.  I love this picture of my cute brown eyed kids!

Hayden made this picture that was hanging out in the hall.  It is fun to see him writing sentences now and reading!

Aladin Junior Musical!!

Parker tried out for his school musical again this year!  We were so excited when he made it for the second year in a row.  He was a Customer in the musical Aladin.

He went to three months worth of practices.  We were so excited to see him perform!

The singing and dancing was great.

The sets were also creative.  Here is a picture of Parker goofing around with one of the watermelons he purchases during the show.

Mr. Smith is such a great director!  When I asked if we could get a picture of him and Parker he set up this scene.  He had Parker sit on the throne while he bowed down to him.

Then we had him sit on the throne so Parker could bow down to him.  It was hilarious!  I love that he just thought of this right on the spot.

Addy really wanted to meet Princess Jasmine.  It was the sweetest thing,  Jasmine was so kind to talk with her and take a picture.  It was just like being at Disneyland but with no line.

Parker was happy to have his Uncle Spencer and cousin Tucker at the show.  It was fun to have so many family members there to cheer him on!

I am so glad the Parker is having these fun experiences acting.  I love seeing him perform!

Our 14th Anniversary!

We celebrated our anniversary a couple days early on Saturday May 16th!  We went to The Roof for dinner.

The view is always beautiful and the food delicious.  This is our second time that we have celebrated an anniversary there.  It think the last time was our ninth.

There is always so many desserts to choose from.  At this point I was already feeling full.  But as Kev likes to remind me, "there is always room for dessert!"

We went and watched the movie Meet the Mormons after we ate.  We both had never seen it before and really enjoyed it.  We also had fun taking some selfies before the show.

On Sunday we celebrated with the kids.  We had steak for dinner.  I think the kids look forward to our anniversary just so they can have some steak.  We also started a new tradition of have sparkling cider in the goblets we got for our wedding.  I love my husband and am grateful for the last fourteen years we have shared together.

Celebrating Motherhood

On the Friday before Mother's day I spent the afternoon with Parker at school.  They had a "Ma Spa".  It was one of the most creative Mother's day presents I have received.

Parker painted my fingernails for me which was definitely a first!  He did a pretty good job.  We filled out a questionnaire and made a picture.  One of the highlights was a slideshow that they put together with pictures of the Moms and their kids.

Later that day I was planting my flowers when a downpour happened.  Halle grabbed her umbrella and stood over me to keep my dry while I finished planting my flowers.  It was the sweetest!  These thoughtful acts of service our the best gifts a Mom can get.

I was able to visit my Grandma at the nursing home.  We brought her a big bouquet of flowers to brighten up her room.  I love this picture of Addy with her Great Grandma.  

I was also able to see my Grandma Smoot that same day.  She was so sweet and had treats for all the kids and presents for me. I have been blessed with the greatest grandmother's!  They are both like Mom's to me.

I had a wonderful Mother's day!  Kev helped the kids bring me breakfast in bed.  It was delicious!  The best present Kev gave me was a Sunday with no meetings.  He was there to help out with the kids and go to church with us.  It was so nice!

He also went above and beyond and made me a steak and shrimp dinner!  We all enjoyed the meal!

We went up to see Kev's Mom after dinner.  She had her traditional snow ball bush fight with the kids.  They love this tradition with their Grandma Sue.

Addy was happy to see Grandma open up her present from all of us.

Girls in white dresses!

Our niece Aubrey was baptized on Saturday May 2nd.  It was a beautiful baptism and we were so glad we were able to be there!  Halle and Aubrey both looked so sweet in their white dresses.

We went to Lisa's house afterwards for yogurt parfaits and treats.   Lisa braided Aubrey's hair so cute for her special day.

I made Aubrey some sugar cookies.  They were a lot of fun to decorate.

Addy loved running around with Aubrey and Halle.  They were so good to include her.

Grandma Sue and Grandpa Ken with some of their grandkids.  It was amazing that the kids cooperated for this picture.  We missed not having Heather, Dan, and their kids with us.  It was good to hang out and talk with Kev's sister Lisa.  She is right in the middle of her Chemo and radiation treatments again.  It was hard seeing her feeling sick.  She is such a great example to all of us. 

Start your engines!

Parker had his final Pinewood derby last week.  He and Kev worked hard to get his car ready.  It is the sleek black car second from the left. He received recognition for the "Most awesome car"!

I thought it was fun how the boys were lined up checking out the cars before the race.

It was fun watching all the cars race and cheering on the boys.

Parker came in fifth place overall.  I was so proud of him for having a great time even thought he didn't win.  He raced all three of his derby cars at the end.  His blue one from his first derby beat out the other two.

Parker and Kev make a great team!  It will be another couple years until Hayden can participate in the Pinewood derby.
