Mother's day was just what I needed this year. I got to sleep in and was surprised with breakfast in bed. The kids love climbed into bed with me to share my breakfast. They were so
excited to share with me the cards and presents they had made at school.
Mckenna made me a pop up card with flowers and cutouts of the two of us. It was very creative. Parker wrote a book all about me. It was fun seeing his spelling of all the words.
Halle made me a bracelet which I wore proudly all day.
Kev gave me these beautiful sunflowers. He really made the day special for me. The kids sang in sacrament meeting. It was
Halle's first time singing with the primary. It was fun to see her waving at us from up on the stand. We went to my Grandma's house for dinner and then over to see Kev's Mom. It was great to see both my Grandma's!
We celebrated our tenth anniversary on Wednesday May 18th. We planned a getaway to Salt Lake for a couple of days. We went to dinner at a restaurant called Tuscany. Kev had wanted to take me there for awhile because he knows that Italian food is my favorite.
The food was delicious! Kev got the porkchop that had marinated for 48 hours. We had an appetizer and desert as well. It was our big anniversary so we decided to go all out. The atmosphere was elegant with huge stained glass windows and all the decor really made you feel like you could be in Italy. We hope someday to make a trip to Europe together.
Kev surprised me with these beautiful long stem red roses. He had them waiting for me on the table when I woke up. My friend did the arrangement and I love them. They are still looking beautiful even after five days.
We thought it would be fun to spend our anniversary at the Inn where we spent our wedding night. They had redecorated but it still looked similar. It was nice to spend a relaxing evening away from home. We were actually the only ones in the whole place since it was the middle of the week. We had a nice breakfast and then went to the Salt Lake temple for a session. I have been to about thirty weddings there but had never done a session. It is such a beautiful temple. I can see why it took forty years to create. It was fun just having time together to reminisce about everything that we have accomplished and experienced in our last ten years together. It was also fun imagining where we will be in life in another ten years. I am so thankful for my husband! It was such a great way to celebrate!
