Mckenna's new look...

A couple months ago Mckenna started telling us it was hard for her to see certain things.  She was having a hard time seeing the clock across the kitchen.  We took her to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago and they told us she needed glasses.  The eye doctor told us she is near sighted. Which explains why she could still read easily and was getting straight A's in school.  We had fun choosing out her new glasses together.  They had a huge pile for her to try on.  It is nice that there are so many cute styles and colors to choose from. The ones she chose are metallic purple and blue.  They also have stars on the sides of the frames. We went to pick them up on Friday.

My sister is home for the week and came with us.  It was fun having her there with us.  We took Mckenna to Kneaders afterwards for some dessert.  She had never been before. Mckenna immediately noticed how much the glasses help.  She kept commenting on how bright, shiny, and clear everything looked.  My favorite thing she said was, "first I have to get glasses and then an expander for my teeth.  What next?  Hearing Aides!"  Overall, she has had a good attitude about the whole thing. 

Parker's baptism day!!

Parker was baptized on Saturday January 5, 2013.  It was such a special day for our family.  Parker had been looking forward to this day for so long.  We are so happy with his decision to be baptized and confirmed a member of  The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.  Parker has always had a strong desire to do what is right.  He is such an example to all of us.  He has gotten up several times in church to share his testimony with everyone. 

It was nice having so many family members there at his baptism.  Kevin was able to give him a really nice confirmation blessing.  The spirit was strong in the room.  Parker had tears in his eyes when he came to give me a big hug.  I know that he felt the spirit. Great Grandpa Foster gave the talk on baptism and the holy ghost.  He shared memories from his own baptism which was over eighty years ago.  Parker has the example of so many great Priesthood holders.

It is hard to believe that we have two kids old enough to be baptized now.

Parker with our sweet cousin Emily.  She took notes during the confirmation blessing for us to have.  It was so nice of her to do that.  She wrote down blessings he was promised and advice he was given on how to listen to the Holy Ghost.  Parker also got a letter in the mail from his Uncle Spencer who is on a mission right now.  He bore testimony to Parker and gave him advice.  Parker loved the letter and was so happy to share it with all the family. 

Parker's baptism pictures!!

Parker had his baptism pictures taken back in December.  My friend Mikki Grimley took the pictures for me.  I was so pleased with how they turned out.  She did a great job of capturing Parker's personality on camera. She was also open to all the ideas I had. You can check out her photo site at mikkigrimleyphotography@blogspot.com  We took the pictures at the boat ramp by Utah lake.  It is one of my favorite spots.  I love the snow capped mountains in the background.  Parker was a good sport because it was really cold that day.  Parker looked so handsome and grown up in his new suit.

Ringing in 2013!!

We got together with our friends the Frosts and the Castagnos to celebrate New Years.  We left our kids home and all of us adults went to dinner.  It is nice that we all have a child old enough to babysit the others.  We went up the street to a local Mexican restaurant.  The great thing was that there was no wait!

We had everyone over to our house for the rest of the night. The Moms were hanging out in the kitchen.  We had lots of snacks and treats to munch on throughout the night.

The kids watched Madagascar 3 and went through three bowls of popcorn as well.  They got a little hyper because of the late hour.  Hayden even asked if  he could go to bed.  He and Addy are the only ones that didn't make it until midnight.

The kids had fun taking turns playing air hockey.  This is Paytons victory pose.

We played some fun games for most of the night.  The favorite was called Blurt.  The first time we competed girls against guys.  The second time we divided up as families.  We were glad to have Kenna on our team.  She scored a lot of points for our team.  We had a lot of fun ringing in the New Year together! 

An awesome snow year!!

We got several great snowstorms in the last month.  It gave us a good snow base up at the cabin.  It is such a huge difference from just a month ago.  We went up after Christmas to enjoy all the new powder!

It is always nice warming up by the fire.  We enjoy it even more because we don't have a fireplace at our house.

The kids having fun with their cousins.  They like to take their wet socks and hang them above the fireplace to get warm.  I thought it was cute to see them with all their feet lined up in front of the fire.

Halle always has a good time with cousin Aubrey!  They were both happy to have their fingernails painted by Grandma.  It was just like having a manicure at a salon.

Addy and Austin both had a bottle and went down for naps!  It was good cousin bonding time for the two of them.

Grandma Sue made the kids pjammas for Christmas! They turned out very cute! It was fun to see them all together.

Kev and Kenna both kicking up some snow.  Mckenna is getting quite good at snowmobiling on her own.  She was keeping up with Kev and didn't get stuck once.

We went out not long before the sun went down.  It was a great time for taking pictures. I am still loving my new camera.  Kev was getting some air time.  Parker is on there with him too.

I thought this was such a cute picture of the girls.  Halle was pounding on the window and Addy was crawling away from her.

Parker and Halle had lots of fun being pulled around on the sleds.  They were outside for hours and didn't want to come in.  Three more weeks until we go snowmobiling again!
