Utah Lake

Kev bought these "old school" waverunners and has been working hard to get them running again.  Saturday June 30th was the big day when we took them to the lake.

Hayden had fun playing with his remote control boat while we got ready.

I didn't realize that there was a sandy beach by the boat ramp.  They must bring in Sand from by the ocean because Addy found a seashell while we were there.

I had a fun time hanging out with the girls and taking some selfies.

Halle had fun riding with Kev on the blue waverunner.  I rode with Hayden and Addy on the purple one.

I got this awesome video of Kev and Halle spraying us as they flew by.  It was a fun afternoon out on the lake.  Kev's hard work has paid off.  Now we just need a boat!

Eagle Scout

My cousin Jeff's son, Connor, had his Eagle Court of honor on Sunday June 24th.  We enjoy being in the same ward as them!  Connor is setting a great example for Parker and all the other boys in the troop.

Parker was asked to help with the presentation of the flag.

Kev is the scoutmaster in the ward now.  It was his first time conducting an eagle court of honor in this ward.  My Uncle Hal shared that Connor is the 4th generation to receive his Eagle in our family.  There is over 70 years of scout service starting with my Grandpa Rosen down to Connor.  I thought that was impressive!

We loved having my Grandpa there with all of us.  Mckenna got to sit by her Great Grandpa that night.  It was a memorable night for the Rosen family.

Sweet Sixteen!

Mckenna turned 16 years old on Tuesday June 19th!!  She was actually not home on her birthday.  She left on Monday for a Student Council retreat up at Utah State.  She sent me this cute picture on her bus ride up.  

We really missed not having her home on her birthday.  I had to show some mother restraint and not drive up there to see her.  She did have a fun birthday though.  They sang to her several times.  Her friend Brooke even had a college guy come give her a kiss on the cheek since it was her birthday.

When she got home later that week I had a surprise for her.  We went to get pedicures together.

She said it was so relaxing and that she just wanted to fall asleep.

We then went to our favorite place Waffle Love. We ordered the Nutella waffle and then also the grilled cheese and soup.  I had never tried the grilled cheese before.

I also had a surprise that I had been waiting almost 20 years to give her.  When I was a Laurel in YW's my leader Kathy Bryson had us write letters to our future daughters.  I wrote all about what I was like at her age.  The music I liked, favorite movie, and the boy I liked at the time.  Mckenna loved reading my letter!  I always knew I wanted her to open it when she was 16.  There was even a Polaroid picture of me at her age.

Mckenna got the best gift from her Grandma Loni and Grandpa.  They gave her one of their old cars.

A couple days after Mckenna got home Kev took her to get her drivers licence.  She is so happy that she can drive now.  I am also very happy because I don't have to drive her to work all the time.  It is exciting that our oldest child can drive and date now.  The day she was born was one of the happiest of my life. I love being her Mom! She was the sweetest baby and was spoiled by everyone.  It has brought me joy to watch her grow up into the beautiful woman she is now.  She is responsible, kind, funny, and loveable.  She excels at everything she puts her mind to.  It has been a memorable year with her learning to drive, making student council, and starting a new job.  I can't wait to see the great things she accomplishes this next year.  We love our Kenna!

Kev's 39th birthday!

Kev turned 39 years old on Sunday June 17th.  It also happened to be Father's day.  He was so excited about having smoked pork belly and ribs for his birthday dinner.  He even insisted on smoking the meat himself.

I caught him red handed sampling the meat before dinner.  We also had our Dad's out to eat dinner with us since it was Father's day.

We gave Kev some new tools that he had been wanting.

It was fun having the "newlyweds" join us for the party.  The kids can't get enough of Spence and Megan!

We also celebrated Mckenna's 16th birthday with all the family there.  It was an eventful day in our family.

Mckenna was excited that we gave her a Van's keychain for her keys.  She is counting down the days until she gets her driver's licence.

I took a picture at the end of the day of Kev with the kids.  They are blessed to have him as a Dad.  He does so much for our whole family.

Hanging with my bestie

My bestie Brekke introduced me to the awesome tradition of The Parade of Homes. This was my second year going. On Friday June 8th Parker watched the rest of the kids so I could go look at some homes with Brekke.  We really liked this home in Lehi. It had a beautiful kitchen.

The next day we got to spend almost the whole day together!  This doesn't happen very often.  Brekkes kids were with their Grandparents for the week.  Kev watched our kids so  I could have a break.  The first place we went was shopping at the Mall.  It was so nice to take our time and not have to worry about getting back.  I found lots of great things for Mckenna's upcoming 16th birthday.  It was nice having someone there to give me opinions and laugh with.

We also made a stop at Waffle Love.  It is my favorite!  We both enjoyed our waffles and didn't worry about the calories.

Then we went and saw the house in Provo that I had been dying to see.  Our neighbor Doug Page drew up the house plans for it.

I was literally freaking out as I walked around and saw it.  It was gorgeous!  I only wish I had over a million dollars and could buy it.

My favorite part was the amazing views of Rock Canyon out of its many windows.  I grew up only a few blocks from this area.  I am grateful I had this amazing day with my friend Brekke.  I am so grateful to have her as my friend!  She brings a lot of happiness and fun into my life.
