A day on the slopes!!

Kev and I went skiing for the first time together!  His company was having a ski day that was just too good of a deal to pass up.  It also included lunch as well.  We spent all day Friday skiing at Brighton!

It had been thirteen and a half years since I had last been skiing.  I was a little out of practice but luckily it came back to me.  Kev loves skiing and has even been a ski instructor before.  He spent the day being my own personal ski instructor.  He was so nice and patient with me.  He taught me tricks to skiing that I had never learned before.

 

It was great to spend the whole day together!  The bonus was that the resort wasn't crowded because it was a Friday.  This was the view from the top of the mountain.  We could see Snake Creek Canyon that we had driven up this last fall.  My favorite view was of the backside of Timp.  I was really sore the next day but it was well worth it!

Parker's Star Wars Party!!

Parker had his friends birthday party on Saturday.  We always wait a few weeks after Christmas to have his party.  Parker chose to have a Star Wars theme. 

The Padowans starting their Jedi Training.  The first task was master Yoda teaching them to balance the force with balloons.  It was fun watching them work so hard to keep their balloons in the air.

Another task was to learn to navigate through the storm trooper fire.  Our unfinished basement worked well for this activity.

They also designed their own Starfighter's out of Lego's.  Look at the concentration on those faces.

We searched everywhere trying to find a Star Wars pinata.  We finally found one but it was 37 dollars. (way too much money for something to just break open)  We got creative and Kev transformed a soccer ball into this awesome Death Star.  The things we do for our kids!

Parker got some fun gifts from his friends.  He has really enjoyed all the Lego's he got.

 

The kids received their certificates from Master Yoda.  They are now Jedi Knights!  I love how they posed for this picture.  They were really taking this seriously!

Date night!!

I always look forward to a night out with my husband!  The mountains looked beautiful as we were driving to Provo.  I love living close to the mountains.

 

Kev received tickets to a couple of BYU basketball games for Christmas.  It was such a great gift for him.  They are also good seats since my Dad has season tickets. 

BYU was playing San Diego on this night.  It was a fun game to watch.  Skyler Halford made 28 points that night.  We enjoyed watching him drain those 3 pointers continuously.  BYU was ahead by a lot most of the game. 

Kev spotted Elder Nielson and Elder Bednar while we were at the game.  It is hard to see in this picture but they were the first row of stadium seats.  They were all dressed up in suits and were there with their wives.  I must admit that I enjoyed watching them almost as much as the game.  At one point they opened a box of orange creamsicles which they passed on down the row.  The final score was 87 to 53.  It was a fun night out together.  A man next to us even asked if we were newlyweds.  I think he was somewhat surprised when I told him we have been married 12 and half years.  I am glad that we still look young and in love after all these years!

 

Winter fun!!

We went up to the cabin for a few days after Christmas.  It was beautiful up there!  Clear, blue skies that were free from the inversion. 

The first thing the kids wanted to do was suck on icicles that they pulled off the cabin.

The kids had a lot of fun with their Calderwood cousins at the cabin.  Tucker was sneaking up on a unsuspecting Parker.

He white washed Parker really good.  You better believe that Parker got him back.  It was just boys being boys and having a great time.

Addy loved being in the snow this year.  She was one of the first ones out and one of the last to come in.

Kev and I enjoying being outdoors together.  It was our job to shuttle the kids up and down the hill, pull them on sleds and tubes, and just keep them happy.

 

We let Parker drive the snowmobiles for the first time this year.  We set some clear rules and then ride behind him and make sure he doesn't go too fast.  It was really beautiful as the sun was being to set.

We always have fun listening to the player piano up at the cabin.  The favorite songs to listen to are Rudolph, and The Annie soundtrack.

Addy had a great time throwing her Minnie mouse down the stairs.  I made a game of it by throwing it back to her.  It is great the things that entertain a two year old.

 

The kids settling down to watch Despicable Me 2.  They were laughing their heads off.  I had a fun time watching them watch the movie.  As you can see, there are a lot of boy cousins in the Foster family.

Mckenna was kind and took Addy down with her several times.  It was Addys first time sledding and she loved it.  She had her hands in the air and was making happy noises the whole way down.

Addy fell asleep after just five minutes in the car.  She was all worn out from several days of play at the cabin.
