Simple things...

It really is the simple things that bring joy. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. We had so much fun this weekend together. We didn't really go anywhere but just stayed at home. We spent Saturday out in the yard and enjoying the good weather. I was so happy to see my roses in full bloom.
Parker, Halle, and I had a great time just looking for caterpilars. We found some in my flower pot. We each took turns holding them and feeling them crawl all over our hands.
There is always lots of kids playing at our house. I love that the kids in the neigborhood will just come by and hang out. Mckenna is always so good to include Halle in everything. You can tell from the look on Halles face how happy she was to just sit there by them.
I love seeing my kids laugh and have fun together. After church I wanted to take a picture of all three of them. I told Kev to try and get their attention so they would smile. He was dancing for them and they couldn't stop laughing.

Milestones!

Today, after many months of waiting Halle went to nursery for the first time!! I really wondered how she would handle it. Mckenna loved it and never cried once. Parker would cry every sunday for the first few minutes and then was fine. Halle must take after Mckenna because she loved it! When we first went in they were having fun with play dough. Halle sat at the table and just joined right in. I stayed for awhile to make sure she was okay and then left. She didn't cry and was happy as can be. I decided to check on her a little later to see how things were going. I laughed at what I saw. She was having a tug a war with another little girl. It was over a baby bottle that they both wanted. Halle being the third child really knows how to hold her own. I guess I picked a great time to check on her. I had a wonderful time in relief society because I actually heard the whole lesson. When I went to pick up Halle she was having such a good time that she didn't want to leave.

Oktoberfest!!

On Saturday we drove up to Snowbird ski resort for Oktoberfest. It is a German festival that they have every year. Kev served his mission is Germany and loves the German culture.
We also enjoy eating the German foods. The kids were good and tried most everything we gave them. It was funny because Halle really liked the sauerkraut! Kev was so happy she liked it he exclaimed "that's my girl"! There is great entertainment everywhere. We enjoyed listening to the folk songs as we ate. They played edelweiss which is one of my favorites!

The kids thought riding in the tram was so cool. It was my first time taking the tram up the mountain. The view was beautiful the whole way up.

We took a family picture up at the top of the mountain. It was really impressive being up there. There was an amazing view from all directions!

When we got back off the mountain we enjoyed more of Oktoberfest. They had all kinds of fun things for the kids. They loved the balloon man. Halle had fun trying to pop her pink monkey.
We had to take a picture of Kenna & Parker in their German attire. It was funny seeing Parker as a plump little man! We had a really fun day! If anyone is interested the festival runs through October third.

Mckenna's Suprise!!!

Mckenna lost her first tooth!! She had been wiggling it for the past week and so I decided to see how loose it really was. It was really loose and it only took me a few yanks before I had it out. It was funny because I actually enjoyed pulling it out. Mckenna was reallly brave and was laughing as I pulled it out. It was the excitement of losing that first tooth. I hope the other ones are just as easy.
After I pulled it out she ran to the bathroom mirror to see her new smile. She loved it and was so excited for Dad to come home so she could flash him her toothless grin!
Mckenna asked me all kinds of questions about the tooth fairy. How does the tooth fairy get into the house? How will she find my pillow in the dark? She then informed me she was going to stay up all night so she could see the tooth fairy! I guess she gave in to exhaustion.
The next morning she lifted the pillow and was so excited to see that the tooth fairy had come! She was so happy to see that she had left a dollar. Mckenna couldn't wait to go to school and tell all her friends!!

Spencers 1st BYU football game!

For Spencer's 15th Birthday Lisa and I decided that we would take Spencer to a BYU Football game. The kid had never been! I don't know how that has happened....Crazy! Anyway he spent the night Friday and then Saturday we got up early and went to 7 Peaks in Provo (That place is way fun!) and then headed over to the game for the season opener. I'm so stoked that football season is finally here! It was a awesome game even though we totally sucked it up in the 3rd. Luckily we got our act together and finished it off right.

We sat in my friend's seats since he was in Canada and couldn't use his tickets. The seats weren't half bad except it was SOOOO flippin hot during the 1st and 2nd quarters. Spence and I went down during half-time and bought the biggest snowcones we have ever had. They lasted until the end of the 4th! It was an awesome time and hopefully we can do it more often. It's cool that my little bro is finally growing up. He's following in his siblings foot steps and becoming a "true" Foster! He loves the ladies and they love him! LOL.

Parkers first day of school!!

Today was Parkers first day of Preschool! It is a really big day for him. He has wanted to go to school since Mckenna first started. Parker told me several times this morning that he was going to miss me! He is such a sweet and loving little boy.
