Halloween!!

We had a really fun Halloween this year! It all started yesterday with Parkers preschool party. I had fun taking pictures of his class all dressed up. His teacher loved his costume and nicknamed him Jack Sparrow. We started out the day by going to Mckennas Halloween parade. She was dressed up as Snow white this year. Halle was our little Daisy. She actually wore Mckennas costume that she had at that age. It was great to know that both our girls have worn it and it has gotten some use. We had a ward Halloween party tonight. Kev and I decided that this year we would dress up too. We had a really fun time at the church with our friends. They had all kinds of games for the kids. Kev was in charge of the spook alley with the deacons. It turned out awesome. We then took our kids trick or treating in the neighborhood. There were so many kids out there. We bought a lot of candy and it was gone in about an hour. We spent the rest of the night enjoying all the sugar. Holidays are the best!

Remembering Mom!

Today it has been twelve years since my Mom passed away from Cancer. Twelve years seems so long and I miss her so much. This is a picture of her holding me when I was a baby. She was such a loving mother to me. I am so blessed for the time that I did have with her. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have that we can be together again someday.

Each year on the day my Mom passed away we spend the day together as a family. We look through the pictures of my Mom and remember all the good times we had together. I love to hear the stories my grandparents tell me of my mother when she was growing up.

We take flowers up to the cemetary to put on her grave. On the way up to her grave Parker asked me "Mom? will Grandma Sylvia like her flowers?" I assured him that she would and that Grandma would know that he came to see her. He wanted to know how she would know, and so I told him that she can see us from Heaven.

I am so glad that I have my grandparents here for love and support. They mean so much to me and have always been like parents to me.

It is so sweet to see Parker and Halle putting flowers on Grandmas grave.

Fall fun!!

We made our annual visit to Cornbellys tonight! It was great because it wasn't crowded and it was suprisingly warm. It was nice because Mckenna and Kayley were old enough to run around and do their own thing. Parker had fun racing the dirt bikes around the track. He could barely reach the peddles but that didn't stop him. I took Halle over to the giant jumping pillows. They are like trampolines. She got right on and was having a great time. I can't belive how much Halle has grown up lately. She just wants to be like the rest of the kids and do what they are doing. I really liked the hay ride around the corn fields. We had the best view of Timpanogos Mountain above the corn. I was so happy because I had corn chowder in a bread bowl for dinner. There is nothing like hot soup on a cold fall evening. It was great being out with our kids and having fun together.

1 year older and wiser too!

Since we have been married Lisa has needed to have her Wisdom Teeth taken out. Since we never had dental insurance until I started my job at ATK it never happened until now (procrastinators....I know). She was dreading it so I scheduled her an appointment one day then called her and told her when she was going in (I'm such a great husband!!). Well this last Friday she went to a local Oral Surgeon and had them removed. She was a trooper. She opted to the general anesthesia and slept like a rock through it all. Not near the experience I had of hearing the teeth being cracked and broken during my extractions. The Doctor said that she did great for having 4 impacted wisdom teeth and that the chances for dry socket were slim. All except for one came out whole. When we got home and we showed the kids the teeth and Mckenna says, " Whoa mom... you're going to get a ton from the tooth fairy!". If she only knew what insurance didn't cover and that the tooth fairy doesn't have any extra cash...lol! Its has been 2 days now and Lisa is sore and has minimal if any swelling. We are both glad to never have to worry about those ever again.

Dr. Cody.....check out the lower right tooth... the root has a j-hook on it. The surgeon thought that was pretty cool. :-)

18 going on 28!!

I celebrated my 28th birthday on Saturday!! I have really been dreading getting closer to thirty. I do feel a lot younger than I am thanks to Mckenna. The other day she informed one of our neighbors that I was eighteen years old. I am glad that my daughter thinks I am so young. Kev and I got away for the weekend up to Park City. We are so thankful to Kev's parents for watching them all weekend. We had a nice dinner at the resort where we were staying. We took a picture of dessert the best part of the meal. I had a chocolate souffle and Kev had Apple crisp. We left the restaurant full and happy!
My Dad let us stay at his new place at the Westgate resort. Kev is making himself feel right at home with the remote in his hand. He loved it because the place has two plasma screens.
I was impressed by the massive marble jetted tub. I really want one of these someday!!
The next morning we woke up to see several inches of snow out the windows. I don't remember many of my birthdays where there was snow. We went to our favorite chocolate shop on the main street. I got a delicious sugar and cinnamon carmel apple.

It wouldn't be a complete trip to Park City without stopping at the outlet mall. It was great because I had birthday money to spend. Kev was really patient and hardly complained about all the shopping we did. ( this is a big deal because he can't stand shopping) He spoiled me all day long and kept using the phrase "Well, it's your birthday!" I have a awesome husband! Thanks for making my birthday so great for me!

Conference Weekend!!

We had a good conference weekend! It was nice to stay home and listen to our prophet and all the other speakers. Conference always leaves me refreshed and motivated to make improvements. It was great because this conference the kids even listened. We printed them off a conference packet that we found online. It had pictures, crosswords, and all kinds of games that helped them listen to the speakers. Mckenna's favorite one had you look to see what the speakers tie looked like and then color it on the page. Parker had fun looking for all the P's in the crossword puzzle. Parker was so excited when the childrens choir sang during the second session. As I listened to conference I noticed that one of the themes was to become like unto a little child. There were several references to the scripture and a little child will lead them. I realize how true this is. My children teach me so much about what is important everyday. I really liked the talk by D. Todd Christofferson. He told a story about the boy who disobeyed his father and crossed the stream to get the cows. The boy said a prayer and his father came and swam the river to find him. He explained how there are angels in this life and some are mortal and others are immortal. I found comfort in the quote that angels will be there to comfort you and bear you up. After the last session today there was a show about President Monson's life. I learned a lot from listening to all the stories about his life as a boy until now. I was impressed that he became a bishop at the young age of twenty two. They said he once had eighty five widows in his ward while he was bishop. He continued to care for them throughout the years and spoke at all eighty five of their funerals. I learned that President Monson is very in tune with the spirit and has blessed the lives of so many by following it's promptings. My respect and admiration for him grew by watching this program. I know that President Monson is called of God. I am so glad that he is guiding our church today!
