Trial Lake

 

We went camping at Trial Lake on August 28th-September 1st. We didn't get our normal campsite this year. But we also enjoyed staying at this new site. 

Hayden and Ollie enjoyed hanging out in the camping trailer. 

Halle was having fun dancing and showing me what the "stanky leg" is. 

Kev and Addy got the fire ready for the night. 

Kenna put together this fun surprise for Addy. 

She wrote in frosting, "Happy first period". Addy loved it!

My favorite time is right when the sun is going down. 

It was Bryson's first time coming to Trial Lake with us! He enjoyed all of the fishing. 

Kenna was happy to come this year. She hadn't been to Trial Lake since before her mission. 

We made tin foil dinners that night. It is always great when all the kids help prepare the dinner. 

Parker was able to spend some time with us before he left to go back for the BYU game. 

I caught a rainbow trout! 

I had fun playing some Skipbo with Parker. 

Halle caught a tiger trout!

She carried on the tradition she and Sienna have of kissing the fish that they catch. 

On Sunday morning we hiked to Wall Lake. We were trailblazing and I got stung by a bee on my ankle. Bryson was prepared and pulled out his first aid kit with anti sting ointment. Wall Lake was the busiest I have ever seen it. It must be because it was Labor Day weekend. 

Ollie loved playing at the lake. Kev would throw a stick and he would swim out to get it. We learned that he is good at doggie paddling. 

It was beautiful as we hiked along. 

I took this picture of the clouds reflecting in the lake. The water level was lower this year. We came later in the year than we normally do.

Addy also caught some fish. We caught 74 fish this year!

Parker came up on Sunday again and took Ollie out on the kayak. 

The kids had fun creating a scene from the movie The Proposal. It was fun to hear all of them laughing and having a good time together. 

We had our favorite Mesquite Chicken dinner. 

It was another beautiful sunset that night. Kev took the kids out fishing again. 

I relaxed and read my book by the campfire. 

August highlights

 

On August 8th we had a girls night. Kev and Hayden were on a YM's campout. I took the girls to eat at Padeli's they had never been there before. They both enjoyed the gyros. I'm glad they both like Greek food like me. We went home afterwards and watched the movie, "Mama Mia".  It is one of Halle's favorite movies. 

Addy started school on Wednesday August 13th. She is in 8th grade this year! We were not ready for Summer to end. Addy was happy to have some classes with some of her friends. She is also serving on student council this year. 

I was leaving Costco on August 13th when I saw Halle and her friends! It's crazy that all of these girls are graduated from HS, starting college, and grown up jobs. I love these beautiful girls! 

Addy is taking a cooking class at school. On August 14th she came home and wanted to bake. She made some cinnamon pinwheels. They turned out delicious! 

Hayden started school on August 25th. He is taking online school through Mountain Heights Academy. He is a junior this year. He looks so grown up and handsome! It might have something to do with his new glasses. I'm happy with how hard he is working at his new classes. 

Addy and I went to Swiss Days on August 29th. It was her first time coming with me and she enjoyed it. We had fun shopping together! I bought her some new stacking bracelets. It was fun running into my niece Aubrey! She starts at BYU in a few days. I'm happy for her and Parker to be there at the same time!

We took Addy and her friends Josie, Lacey, and Megan boating with us! It was good to get to know them better. 

It was nice weather when we got there and the girls were ready to get in the water. 

Some of them jumped in and they were shocked at how cold the water was. 

I took this candid of Kev chilling on the boat. I was surprised to see that the leaves on the mountains are already beginning to change. 

Addy had fun showing the girls how knee boarding is done. 

It was fun having Ollie with us too. 

Kev blew up the tube for the girls. 

All four of them went on the tube together. It was fun to watch their facial expressions. 

The dark clouds came in fast. There was loud claps of thunder. 

Halle came up to the lake after work. She only had about five minutes of sunshine before the weather got bad. 

Unfortunately, there was a long line to get off the lake. So we had to wait the storm out. 

The rain was coming down hard and there was lightening. Kev put the tube over us for the worst part of the storm. 

The sun did come out again. We took the girls to get food at Wendy's before we headed home. 

Liz + Matthew

 

Liz and Matthew got married on August 1st! They were sealed in the Payson temple. 

Their reception was at Shade Events in Vineyard. It was a beautiful venue. 

I love that Liz and Mckenna have grown up together! They both even served missions in England. 

I had fun hanging out with Chris and Ruth. Chris had messaged me earlier in the summer asking for wedding ideas. I was happy to help her. 

They had the cutest wedding booth van. Mckenna and Bryson were getting their pictures taken. 

Kev and I had fun taking some too. We joined them in a sparkler send off for Liz and Matthew. We are so happy for them!
