Cabin party with friends

We had some of our friends up to the cabin on Saturday January 26th.  The Frosts, Bakers, Castagnos, and Houpts came.

We had a full cabin with everyone there but we also had the best time. 

We had a yummy lunch together.  Janice made her peanut butter rice crispie treats which are my favorite. 

It was Kristens first time snowmobiling and she loved it.

Mckenna invited her friend Brooke.  She came up with us on Friday and spent the night.

Here is picture of after Ryker got the snowmobile stuck.  This is a typical scene at the cabin.  

Anders and Jaxson are the cutest friends.  They held hands as they walked up the sledding hill.

Everyone had a lot of fun on the tubing hill.  They even made some trains that went really far.

All five of us Mom's went on a wild tube ride.  Kev was pulling us around the field and we were having a great time.  The next thing I know is that Tessa is pulling away from me, then I hit heads with Janice, and before I knew it we were all laying in the snow.  It was a fun day with some of our closest friends and neighbors!

New Beginnings

Mckenna and Halle had New Beginnings on Wednesday January 23rd.  I love that they are both in YW's now!

Halle is happy to be in Beehives with her best friend Maddi.

Halle was one of ten new beehives that came in this year.  They introduced them and gave them their personal progress book.  They shared that Halle's favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse, her favorite song is "Fight Song", and she loves to ride horses.  I'm so excited for Halle and the amazing experiences she has yet to come in YW's.

MLK Jr day

Monday January 21st was Martin Luther King Jr day.  The kids were happy to have a day off from school.  Kev on the other hand still had to go to work.  The kids played in the new snow we got the night before.  In the afternoon we made good use of our passes and went to the Natural Curiosity Museum.  Hayden loves to build and made this huge house out of big Lego bricks.

He made windows, a door, and even a roof.  When he was done building he told the other kids to enjoy.

We went to Leatherbys that night to celebrate Cole and Wyatt's birthdays.  Wyatt had just turned eight and Cole was turning ten that week.  We are excited that Wyatt is getting baptized in a couple weeks and I can't believe that Cole is a whole decade old now. 

It was fun to have Grandma Sue and Grandpa Ken there with us.  Addy ordered the child size ice cream and look at what she got!  She was good about sharing with anyone that wanted to try it. 

The boys had fun hanging out with their cousins.  Tucker had grown several inches since the last time we saw him.  They are growing up so fast!

Go Cougars!

We went to a BYU basketball game on Saturday January 12th.  

We always enjoy getting dressed up in our blue and cheering for the cougars.  The only sad thing was they ran out of Cougar Tails.  That has never happened before when we have been at a game.  The BYU brownies did cheer us up though.  It was a fun game to watch and we won!

Mckenna wasn't with us at the game because she was on a date with her "favorite guy" Gabe Wilkins.  They went together to the Decades Dance. I took this pictures of them before their day activity which was to Top Golf.  We embarrassed Gabe and Kenna both before we sent them off on their date.

Ski season!

Kev and I went skiing for the first time of the season on Friday January 11th.  It was his company ski day which always includes lunch.

We got the kids off to school and spent the rest of the day skiing at Solitude.  

It was nice to get above the inversion and see some blue skies.

We skied hard and by the end of the day I was exhausted.  They had these bright colored Adirondack chairs that you could sit on.  It was a fun day skiing with Kev and spending time together.

I love to see the Temple

The announcement from our prophet saying that in January of 2019 all eleven year olds could get a temple recommend was the best news for Halle.  She was so excited to go to the temple for the first time!  She had her interview with the bishop on the morning of Saturday January 5th.  We were at the Mount Timpanogos temple two hours later. 

I think one of the reasons Halle was so excited was she had seen Mckenna and Parker going to the temple.  They have both set a great example for her.  Parker even helped her find a family name to take for baptisms. 

It was a tender mercy to be there at the temple with three of our kids.  Kev was able to baptize and confirm them. When we were done Halle asked, "when can I go to the temple again?"  Her righteous desire to participate in temple work is an example to me.  Our prophet President Nelson said, "Our youth and children are among the best the Lord has ever sent into this world.  We must do our part to help them realize their potential."

We let Halle choose where she wanted to get some dessert afterwards.  She wanted to try a new place called "Roll with it".  She enjoyed watching them mix her ice cream and then roll it into curls.  

Halle tried chocolate with raspberries.  It was fun to try several different flavors.  Kev and I had Nutella mixed into ours.  You can't go wrong with that!  It was an amazing afternoon with our three oldest.  I'm sure Halle will always remember her first experience at the temple.
