Family Lagoon day!

It was the Ricks College Alumni day at Lagoon.  It was nice being able to get discounted tickets and they also served lunch.  It is crazy to think that it has been over sixteen years since Kev and I graduated from there!

We got there right when the park opened before the lines got too crazy.  It was great being able to walk right on some of the rides.

Addy went on the Ninja roller coaster since she was tall enough this year.  You can barely see her little face from the harness.

We also walked right onto the ride Wicked.  

The Birches also were there for the Alumni day.  Parker had fun hanging out with Carson and Ryker.  I have fun memories of Lagoon with my friends when I was younger too.

Halle saw her fourth grade teacher Mrs. Rogers.  Katie Rogers and I went to college together and Ricks back in the day.  It has been fun that both Parker and Halle have had her as a teacher.

In the afternoon when it got hot we were ready for the water rides.

We all got soaked but it felt good on a hot July day.

Parker was sweet and took Addy on some of  the kiddie rides.

We got some yummy treats.  Some of the kids got chocolate covered bananas and the rest of us got Pineapple Dole whips.

Kev looked hilarious in this tiny car at the haunted mansion.  We laughed when he pulled up after the ride.

Hayden and Addy rode these classic cars together several times.  It made me happy to see them getting along and being cute together.

We all rode the ferries wheel together.   We had to split up between two gondolas since there are so many of us.

There were great views from up there.  The sun was just beginning to set.  You could also see the newer ride Cannibal.  Kev, Parker, and Halle were the only ones brave enough to try it this year.

Great to be eight!!

Hayden turned eight years old on Monday July 17th!  We had fun going to get his birthday balloons together.

We also started a new birthday tradition of getting a waffle from Waffle Love.  They let you have a free one on your birthday.  Hayden was diagnosed with a food allergy to dairy a month earlier. Long story.  I let him have a cheat day so he could enjoy that nutella.

We had a fun party for him that night at the house with family.

I made Hayden an emoji cake this year and the poop emoji cupcakes.  Hayden loves emojis.  He always sneaks my phone and sends lots of emoji messages to his dad.

Hayden was really excited to get a remote control boat from us.  He has had a lot of fun with it since.

We were happy that Grandma and Grandpa Grant were able to be there with us.

Hayden got to work building his new lego set.  He loves to build with legos, blocks, and anything he can find.  I think he just might build skyscrapers someday.

He also chose out this inflatable shark for one of his presents.  He has had fun with at the pool this Summer.  We love our Hayden!!

Grant family reunion

We went up to Reid Ranch from July 13-15th for our Grant Family Reunion.  The kids were very excited to see their cousins from Texas.  Halle was so sweet to Bailey and spent every moment with her!

Parker had fun running around with his second cousins Ashley and Ethan.

The men got up early one morning to go shoot guns.  Parker is always happy to be included in this tradition.

Addy got to ride some of the bigger horses this year.  She also go to wear the awesome unicorn helmet.

Kev went on the longer horse ride with Mckenna, Parker, and Halle.  Halle was happy to reach the age of 10 so she could go on the long horse ride with them.

Hayden loves the horses and he was petting them while we waited our turn.

I went out in a canoe with Parker. It was fun being out there together.  We just had to get in a good 

rhythm.  Parker likes to paddle faster than I do.

I had fun mini golfing with my nephew Austin!  

I think this was one of my favorite pictures from the ranch this year.  The cousins all piled on the back of the truck with Aunt Ruth.  They were getting a ride back to Tabby lodge.

We couldn't get enough of Cassidy!  It had only been a couple months since we had last seen her.  But she had grown a lot.  She has the cutest baby rolls and is full of smiles.  Hayden and I took her for a walk around the ranch.

Bailey and Addy had the best time swimming together.  The kids swam every day that we were there.

I caught this picture of Parker and Grandpa walking back with their snow cones.  Grandpa Ken always keeps the grandkids happy by buying them snow cones.

We took a family picture with Grandpa and Grandma Grant.  We are very thankful that Grandpa was able to be with us this year.  He was there with a smile on his face even though he is battling cancer right now.

The family night was more emotional this year.  Grandma shared about Grandpa and all the good things he has done in his life.  When I looked around the room and saw so many of their posterity all together it made me emotional.  We are very grateful to both of them for their amazing examples to us.  

The next morning Kev went on a horse ride with his Dad and cousins.

I enjoyed catching up with Alisha while the kids swam.  My favorite part is talking with all the cousins and Aunts.  They always give me good advice and are supportive of my family.

Celebrating the 4th

Our cute kids in their red, white, and blue!  I also made the burlap wreath for our door. I was happy with how it turned out.

Halle helped me make the fruit pizza that morning for my Dad's birthday.  It is one of my favorite desserts to decorate.

Halle made this awesome card for my Dad's birthday!  He loved it!  Captain America is his favorite and she did a good job making the shield.

The kids singing happy birthday to Grandpa.  I am glad he had a fun birthday.

We went back home and did some sparklers and smaller fireworks at our house.

The kids had a great time hanging out on the tramp to watch the fireworks going off in our neighborhood.

Our neighbor's brother-in-law spends thousands every year on his firework show. Our friends watched them with us from the back deck.

The show is always impressive.  You could even see the moon off to the right of all the fireworks.

We had the best and safest view from our deck.  It was like having the Stadium of Fire in our own backyard!
