August highlights

 

I went back to school shopping with the girls on August 12th. We went to the outlet mall and then stopped to get drinks at Jamba juice. I loved this time hanging out with my girls!

Addy went back to school on August 14th! It was her seventh grade day. I can't believe that my  youngest is in middle school now. She looked cute in her new outfit. She was excited to choose all her classes and have a locker. I loved that her sixth grade teacher was there to give her a hug before she started her day. 

Hayden started 10th grade on August 15th. He is in high school now! He drove to school with Halle that morning. The class that he is looking forward to is his woodshop class. 

Addy was having fun with Ollie on August 21st. We both couldn't stop laughing about this picture. Ollie looks hilarious with human hair!

I went to Swiss Days with Brekke on August 30th! It was fun seeing our friend Lindsay while we were there. It was just what I needed to hang out with my bestie and spend the day shopping!

Parker goes to college

 

We took Parker to college on Wednesday August 28th! It was an exciting day! We met two of his roommates as we unloaded his things. I'm very happy that he chose to attend BYU! He told me all those years of merit badge pow wows and BYU basketball games prepared him for this moment. 

   We took him and Brodey to Two Jacks pizza in downtown Provo. It is one of Parker's favorite places to eat. The mozzarella sticks with alfredo are so good. 

It was very busy at the restaurant. Everyone was on their lunch break. I don't remember what the boys were laughing about when I took this picture. It does show off Parker's mustache that he has been growing all Summer. 

We took them to Walmart afterwards to get Parker some groceries. Kev had to stay in the car and participate in a work meeting. I got to hang out with these two at Walmart. They put on these Burger King crowns after we walked in the door. I got asked twice that day if these two were brothers. I told them they were brothers from other mothers. 

This proves how crazy it got in there. I did end up buying him the garbage can. 

I wanted a picture of them by the cougar. They obliged me. 

I made Parker's bed for him and we got him somewhat set up. His huge TV is on his bed for now until he mounts it to the wall. 

I'm glad that he and Brodey are going to be roommates. I gave Parker a big hug goodbye. He didn't seem sad at all. I'm relieved that he has made this transition so well. It is amazing how far he has come in the last year. I'm really proud of him!

Double date

 

We went on a double date on Saturday August 24th! It was fun hanging out with Kathleen and Jacob!

We went to The Grid. Parker has worked there for the last few months. It was fun seeing him on the job. It was my first time racing go-carts. I was definitely not the fastest but I enjoyed it. Kev came in second place both times. 

We went and got some dinner at Los Hermanos afterwards. I'm thankful that I have been friends with Kathleen since high school. It is always good times when we get together!

Halle is a senior!!

 

Halle is a SENIOR in high school this year! I have enjoyed looking back at her first day of school pictures over the years. I have loved watching her growth. She is beautiful! I love to see her pursue her dreams. She is passionate and talented in so many ways. I can't wait to see what she accomplishes next. I hope that she has a memorable senior year!!

Trial Lake

 

We went to Trial Lake August 6-9th. Our new car started having problems as we drove up the steep hill by Jordanelle. We had to try and make it to the Ford dealership in Heber to get it looked at. A hose that went to the cooling system broke. We were grateful that they were able to fix it within a couple of hours. I don't know why, but we have the worst luck with cars. 

We were happy to make it to camp. Ollie enjoyed wandering around camp and smelling everything. 

Paige came up to camp with use. She and Addy helped me chop up all the vegetables for dinner. We had chicken fajitas that night. 

Kev took out the kayak and Hayden tried out his new raft. Ollie also went with them. We are grateful that he is not afraid of the water. 

I love the view at night from camp. 

I had the fire all to myself for awhile and it was peaceful. 

The next morning we went fishing. I wondered how Ollie would react to the fish but he didn't seemed phased at all by them. 

Addy and Paige spent lots of time out on the kayaks. 

Parker came up that night after work. We are glad he could come for some of the time. 

Everyone enjoys chilling in the hammock. Kev even took a nap in there one afternoon. 

Halle invited her friend Sienna to come to camp with us. We had tin foil dinners that night. 

Halle and Sienna both enjoy longboarding. It has been good exercise for Halle all summer. 

Even Ollie spent some time chilling in the hammock. 

Sienna and Halle had their own "Kiss count". They wanted to see how many fish that they could kiss. 

Parker pretended to eat his fish. We caught 48 fish while we were at Trial Lake this time. 

We took the girls to see the Provo River Falls. 

Ollie enjoyed it too! It was a great way for him to get all the dirt cleaned off. 

It was Paige and Sienna's first time seeing the falls. 

Ollie fell asleep quickly on the car ride home. We loved having him with us this year!
