Mckennas first day of school!

Mckenna started Kindergarten this last Tuesday! She was so excited to go. She is in afternoon Kindergarten and was so excited because she would be missing her nap. She also couldn't wait to ride the bus. I asked her how it was riding the bus and she said, "it was so hot..there wasn't any air conditioner just like Aunt Teenies car!" We had a good laugh about that one. We just can't believe that we have a child that is in school. We think it is fun because Kev just finished school and now Kenna is starting.

Graduation!!!

So graduation was last weekend. It was a good feeling to have that behind me now. I could tell the whole time both Thursday and Friday that Lisa was so excited. Its a neat feeling to earn your Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and then know you have a job waiting for you a week later.

Thursday was commencement at the Marriott Center. Since I am a Master student I was able to sit on the second row right up front behind the Doctoral candidates. Kinda cool. Elder Chistopherson of the seventy was the speaker and had a lot of great advice. Your learning shouldn't with the end of school. Definitely won't for me!

Friday was convocation in the Smith Fieldhouse. August graduation was small compared to April graduation. Short and sweet (less than 1 hr). Lisa and the kids came along with lots of other family members. It was great to have so much support for such an exciting accomplishment. Thanks everyone and especially Lisa for giving me the motivation to "get-r-done"! I Love You Babe!

Family vacation!

We went with my family to California this last week. We stayed at the Marriott Palm Desert villas. It was my first time to that part of California. The temperature while we were there was a constant 106. We had a good time and tried to stay cool. We went to Laguna one of the days and had lunch, went to the beach, and the sawdust festivel. The next day we went to Disneyland. The kids loved it and all of us had a fun time. The kids are at a great age to go. They love Disney and know all the characters. They were so excited about everything we did. Parker couldn't wait to meet Mickey mouse. We waited about 45 minutes to see him but it was well worth it. The kids were so happy and thought that getting a hug from Mickey was the best thing in the world. Mckenna's favorite ride was Dumbo and she was so brave and tried Splash Mt. for the first time. Parker's favorite ride was the Casey junior train ride.(it is the little train from the movie Dumbo) The kids were great and we stayed almost until the park closed at midnight. The next day we went to San Diego. It was the first time I had been back since my Grandpa passed away about four years ago. It was great to go back but it just wasn't the same because my Grandparents were no longer living there. It really is the people that make a place special. We went to La Jolla shores and had so much fun playing in the ocean. The water was really warm. We also went to the temple and took some pictures there. Thanks Dad & Loni for another great vacation!

8 Random things about myself....this shouldn't be hard

1. I have 32 teeth in my mouth. I have four extra wisdom teeth that have never been pulled. So I have quite the full mouth. I don't know how they all fit in there.
2. I tipped my Dad's suburban on it's side. When I was sixteen I went cruising with my friends down a dirt road. We were jumping potholes and I over corrected the suburban and we tipped over. The one side was on the road the other hanging over a ditch.
3. I had to have minor surgery to remove a stick from my upper thigh. I was running from a mouse and backed into a rabbit hutch. The wood was so deep that it had to be surgically removed.
4. I have been pregnant through every month in the year. I started thinking about that the other day. I was pregnant with Kenna September-June, Parker was March-December, and Halle was June-March.
5. When I was little I went and told the neighbors that someone had broken into my house. I was pretty convincing and they called the cops. I learned the importance of telling the truth from that one.
6. When I was at Ricks college my FHE brothers were Samoan. They were huge and played football. We had pizza together one night and I ate more pizza than all of them.
7. I am really flexible. My arms are double jointed and I can pop my elbows back and forth. I can do the splits in the air with my legs on two chairs. My legs can hyperextend.(it's easier to see this one than explain) I can grab my leg and put it up by my ear. I can touch my feet to the back of my head.
8. I kick in my sleep. My sister hated sharing a bed with me because I would always kick and push her out of bed. So she thought it would be funny to put my Aunts cat next to me while I was sleeping. I hit the cat so hard that it flew off the bed.( Don't worry the cat lived)

Halle is five months

Our little girl is growing up so fast. I think when it is your third child it seems to go by even faster because you are so busy with your other kids. Halle keeps getting cuter everyday. Her latest accomplishment is rolling over. She was playing in her play gymn and rolled on her side to reach a toy. We then watched her roll onto her tummy. We were so excited just like brand new parents and caught it all on video. I had heard that moments like these get overlooked with a third child but we were still so excited. It was about a week later she rolled from her tummy to her back. Now she is rolling all over the place!

Philipine Inmates

So one of my friends in the lab I work with at BYU told me I had to watch this video. Holy cow this is funny. Apparently the prisoners practise Thriller everyday among other dances. Gosh... if you want to become a backup dancer go to the Philippines and get thrown in prison! Hilarious!
