Kenna's graduation party

Mckenna officially graduated from High School on Thursday May 28th!  

We had a party for her that night at our house with family and some of her friends.  I gave Kenna her graduation gift that morning.  I put together an album of her school work, certificates, art, and pictures from preschool through 12th grade.  We enjoyed looking through it and seeing all that Kenna has accomplished.

We had a delicious dinner with some of Kenna's favorite foods.

Kev smoked pork belly and I made smoked mac and cheese.

Kenna was happy that her best friend Brooke was able to come.

We watched her virtual graduation after dinner.  It was about an hour and a half long since her graduating class is almost 800 students. 

We had her favorite cake from Costco which she calls "the chocolate cake of death".  It is so rich that not many can finish it.  But Kenna always can!

We took some pictures with everyone that was there.

We were happy that Cody and the kids were able to come.  Aubrey even made a flower lei of carnations for her to wear.

We were missing Parker that day because he was up at Reid Ranch working for the week. 

Kev got out his go cart and Kenna had fun driving it around.  Kev got this go cart when he was eight years old. It had been sitting at his parents for years.  We recently brought it to our house and he got it running again. 

Alpine School District put on an impressive firework show. There were fireworks shot off from each high school around the valley. 

We did some sparklers that night after it got dark. 

We love Kenna and are so proud of how hard she has worked and all that she has accomplished!

Memorial Day

We drove to Provo to visit the graves of my mom and Grandma. I miss them both everyday! It was a beautiful morning at the cemetery.  I noticed in this picture that my kids are getting as tall as me. 

We drove up to Midway to visit Lisa's grave.  It had been awhile since we had been up there.  It was nice to share some of our memories of her. 

We drove to Larkin to visit my Grandpa and Great Grandparents graves.  We always enjoy the free pop.  I got a Dr. Pepper this year. 

We got lunch from Cafe Rio and then ate it at the cemetery.  We missed our tradition of spending time with extended family and eating at Olive Garden.  My Grandma did promise Hayden a dinner at Olive Garden when we don't have to social distance anymore. 

It was our first time seeing the headstone for Grandpa and Grandma Grant.  It turned out really nice!

We also enjoyed hearing a man play the bagpipes. It was a great reminder of Grandpa and his Scottish ancestry. 

We drove to Sandy and went to the cemetery there.  We left a Diet Coke for Uncle Brian.  We really miss him!

We also took Great Grandpa and Grandma Foster a Coke. It was a good day to remember our family members who have passed away.

Our anniversary

Kev and I celebrated our 19th anniversary on Monday May 18th! He brought me home these beautiful red roses.

We were able to go to dinner at Macaroni Grill. I love their bread with olive oil and rosemary.  I also always order an Italian soda. 

It was crazy because we literally had the place to ourselves which made social distancing easy.  My favorite thing to do on our anniversary is to go to the temple.  But that didn't happen since the temples are still closed.  We went home and watched our wedding video together.  I love being able to look back and remember that day.  I'm grateful to be married to Kev and for the life we have together.  It is one of the best choices I have ever made!

Mckenna's unique graduation

We were all disappointed when we found out that Kenna wouldn't be having a normal graduation due to the pandemic.  On Thursday May 14th she was assigned the time of 8 a.m. to get her diploma at the school.  We were told that we could bring as many family members as would fit in our car.  We crammed 13 of us in there.

Kenna sat on my lap for the ride over to the school. 

Kayley said it looked like a clown car as all of us got out. 

They had some photo ops for the family.

Mckenna received her diploma from principal Twitchell. We were just glad that we could be there to clap and cheer for her.

We are grateful both sets of grandparents were able to come.

She is the first grandchild to graduate on both sides of the family.

Kayley gave Kenna some fun graduation gifts.

We went to Kneaders for breakfast afterwards. She got a Utah State hoodie and shirt from her grandparents. 

We are excited for Kenna and all that the future holds for her!

Senior night of excellence

We were invited to the Senior Night of  Excellence for Mckenna on May 12th.  Kenna received two gold cords for being on the high honor roll.  She received another blue cord for National Honor Society. She also received a medal for being in the top ten percent of her graduating class of 780.

She got to walk down the red carpet while they read her many achievements.

They also recognized her for receiving a scholarship to Utah State, Southern Utah University, and a Grant to BYU. Mckenna is excited to attend Utah State in the fall!

Mckenna wanted to celebrate by getting food from her favorite place Mcdonalds.  She ate a Big Mac, 10 piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a mcflurry shake.  We had a fun night celebrating with her!  We are so proud of how hard she has worked and all that she has accomplished in High School!

Mother's Day

The kids got up early and brought me breakfast in bed.  I always enjoy reading the cards they make me. I also got two gift cards, one to Kneaders and the other to Crumbl.

I loved having church at home because I got to plan the whole program.  The kids sang "Love is Spoken here" while Kenna played the piano.  Parker played the clarinet and Halle the violin for our musical number.  Kenna shared a conference talk which was "The finest homes."

We had Kev's parents, Dad, Loni, and Kayley over for dinner.

The food was delicious!  We had surf and turf. 

Kev bought me a propane fire pit for Mother's Day.  We had fun roasting marshmallows for dessert.
