Dance performance

The girls had their dance performance on Monday June 29th!  We were grateful that they got the chance to perform on stage.  The theme of the performance was "Have Courage and Be Kind". 

It was different than their past performances due to Covid-19.  They did the performances by class, we had to wear masks, and only two adults from each family were allowed to come.

The girls had been doing dance classes on Zoom since March.

Addy was in a Hip Hop class and danced to the song "Aint no Mountain High Enough". 

I love to see my girls perform!  They had these cute photo ops for after they danced. 

Halle did a Spanish Flamenco dance. It was beautiful to watch.  You can see her flexibility in this picture. 

I was impressed with how well they performed all together.  Especially since they didn't get to practice together much.  

Halle's next dance was her Contemporary one. 

I'm glad Kev was able to be there.  I'm extra proud of the girls for working hard and practicing at home the last few months!

Lake day with family

Cody invited us to go boating on Saturday June 20th!  His boat is really nice and we all had a great time at Deer Creek.

I took Cole out on the wave runner.  He had never been on one before. I love to see him smile!

Halle got to try wake surfing for the first time.  Cody was right there in the water helping her get up on the board. The water was cold that day too.

Uncle Cody helped Addy wakesurf.  It was the sweetest thing and I'm glad we have it on video!

Ken enjoyed taking out the waverunners. 

It was fun to see the girls bouncing around together on the tube.  They caught air and then wiped out. 

Kev got up easily on the surf board. The longest he stayed up was for about five minutes.

It was Hayden's first time knee boarding and he did great. 

Cody and Spencer worked hard coaching Kenna to help her get up.  It took her a few tries but she has it down now.

I want to give a shout out to my awesome brother-in-law Cody for inviting us and teaching all my kids how to wake surf.  We had the best time!

Mckenna is 18!

Mckenna turned 18 years old on Friday June 19th!  I can't believe she is all grown up.  It has gone by too fast.

We went up to the Spruces Campground to have them taken.

I love this one of her laughing.  April told me to say something funny and she was laughing at me.

We went to the Cheescake Factory afterwards.  Kenna had never been before.  We each got a piece of cheescake and then shared a Nacho appetizer.  It was a fun night out together.

It was the first time in two years that Kenna was home on her actual birthday.  She has spent the last two birthdays at student council retreats.

I was glad we were able to do some of our birthday traditions together.

She chose Mcdonalds for her birthday dinner. There was no surprise there.

We had a party for her that night with family.  She and her cousin Hailey had matching sandals.

I love these two!  Kayley turned 19 years old just a couple weeks earlier.

Our big present to Kenna this year was a laptop.  We knew she needed one to take to college.  She also got dishes, pots, and a toaster.  She is all set for college now.

We had brownie sundaes for her birthday dessert.  It was a fun night celebrating Kenna.  The last eighteen years with her have been amazing and too fast. I have loved watching her learn and grow.  Kenna is a perfectionist and does well with everything she tries. I admire her faith, courage, and work ethic.  She is the best example to her four younger siblings.  I love to hear her laughing and having fun with them.  We are going to miss having her at home with us when she goes to college in the fall. We love you Kenna!!

Kev's birthday

Kev turned 41 years old on Wednesday June 17th!

We went bowling at Fat Cats and basically had the whole place to ourselves. 

Kev is still the best bowler in our family and got several strikes. We all had a fun time together.

JCW's opened up their inside dining just in time for Kev's birthday.  Kenna was working that night and we were happy we got to see her for a few minutes. 

We came home and Kev opened up his presents. He got a a new De-Walt Saw that he wanted.  Hayden decided it would be fun to give Dad some birthday spankings. Kev was a good sport about it.  I'm grateful that Kev has been working from home the last three months.  We enjoy having him around more! He has also been working hard to finish our basement.

June highlights

Dad, Loni, and Kayley came out to our house for the afternoon on June 13th.

They spoiled us and took us to lunch at Mod Pizza. 

We had Preston, Melissa, and their kids over for dinner on Sunday June 14th. We love hanging out with their family!  Melissa made the most delicious rolls!

Parker and his friends missed their 9th grade Lagoon Day because of  Covid-19.  I promised him I would drive them up there as soon as Lagoon opened.  I drove them up on June 15th.  They had to wear masks while they were in the park but they had a great time.  I wished I could stay and have fun with them all day. 

Hayden and his friends Mason and Brody have had fun playing Legos this summer. They set up under our big shade tree and play for hours. 

Addy and Paige set up their own lemonade stand one afternoon.  They were happy to each make a few dollars.

Kev and I went 4-wheeling with the Bakers on Monday June 15th.  I love that we have trails right out of our neighborhood. We went exploring and saw the prayer flags and even came across some deer.  We were covered in dust by the time we got back but it was worth it.

St. George family vacation

We took a trip to St. George June 4-7th. It was a much needed vacation for all of us.  We stayed in an AirBnB in Washington.  I loved where we stayed.  It was big, open and had enough beds for our family. We even had our own covered patio where we could BBQ and hang out.

We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub.  We swam everyday that we were there.

We spent two days at Sand Hollow Reservoir. We bought a State Parks Pass and have been making the most of it. 

It was our first time using the tube this season.

We also bought new kayaks with some of our "Trump Money".  Addy helped pull me to shore. 

Kev and Parker had fun out on the wave runners.  It was nice because they were running right and we didn't have any problems this trip.

Kenna was working on her tan while laying in the tube.  A huge windstorm came in the afternoon and we got sandblasted.  We packed up and headed for the pool. 

We went to the lake again the next morning before the wind picked up.  We tried a different spot on the lake. 

Mckenna and Halle took this selfie on my phone while I was out playing.  The hat Kenna is wearing used to belong to Kev.  He bought it on his mission. The bucket hat is in style again and has now become Kenna's!

We drove to Airzona that afternoon to check out the Glitter Mine. 

The kids were entertained finding their own piece of crystal selenite to take home. 

We brought our tripod with us so we could get a family picture. 

We went to the Train Park after and it was hot.

We were able to cool off while we waited for the train.  I love this picture of all the kids holding on to Kenna!

Hayden was glad that the train was open this time.  

We went and got wood fired pizza that night for dinner.  The BBQ chicken one was delicious.

We thought this sign on the wall was funny and true.

Our last day there we went and explored at Pioneer Park.

Kev likes to call this, "Fat man's dilemna".  I'm glad that I can still fit.

The views from on top are always beautiful.

I'm very grateful that we were able to have this time together as a family.  It is Mckenna's last summer home with us and we are trying to make the most of it.
