Easter

On Saturday we did our traditional egg dyeing.  The kids always enjoy it and we love eating all the hard boiled eggs too.

Hayden was happy to find  his basket too.  He got a new Curious George book which he later read with Dad.  It was so nice having Kev home with us all day since there were no meetings.

Halle was happy eat some peeps.  They are not my favorite but she seems to enjoy them.

The kids were busy part of the morning filling the eggs with candy.

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday sacrament meeting.  It was nice to focus on the real reason we celebrate Easter.  I was able to sing with the choir the number My Shepard will supply my need.  The kids looked so cute in their Easter clothes.

We went up to Grandma's after church.  I was happy to get a family picture of us all dressed up.  Kev even wore his new tie after church just because I wanted him too.

I was glad that it was decent weather for our egg hunt.  You never know what the weather will be like when Easter falls early in March.

The kids were fast and gathered up all the eggs.  Parker was checking out his treats.

Then we went up to have Easter dinner with Grandma.  We had ham, funeral potatoes, beans, and rolls. Everything was delicious!

The kids came running when it was time for dessert.  Emily actually made eclairs for everyone.  We were all impressed.  They are Kev's favorite dessert.

It was nice to meet Emily's boyfriend Dan.  He is really nice and they make such a cute couple.  It was good to have some cousins there.

I am so grateful to Grandma for keeping these wonderful family traditions going.  We love her very much!

We stopped by to see Kev's parents at the end of the day.  They were happy to see the kids and hear all about their Easter.

A day at the spa!

Halle had her friends birthday party on Saturday March 12th.  I did a spa day for them at our house.  

Their reaction when I told them we were going to do a mud mask was so funny.  I explained that it was not really mud from outside that they were going to put on their faces.  They were good sports to try it.  They did like the end result when their face was clean and smooth.

The big hit of the party was the foot spa!  Thank you Loni for letting me borrow it.  The girls feet are so small they were able to each share a side.  I also put some lavender bath salts in there.

I gave the girls foot massages after the foot spa.  Halle was nice enough to help me.  We rubbed in lotion from the Dead Sea.

I had two nail assistants for the party.  Mckenna and her friend Tessa.  I was very grateful for the extra help.

We even had a nail dryer and parafin wax warmer.  They all wanted a chance to dip their hands in the wax.

Halle enjoyed all the pampering!  She was reading an American Girl magazine while she had her foot bath.  I had one of the girls ask me if I used to work at a Spa.  It made me smile to hear that.

The girls sang Happy Birthday and we had cupcakes and snacks.

Halle was very happy to have her cousin Aubrey at her party!  They are the cutest cousins.  Mckenna curled both of their hair for the party.  The party was fun and even I got to enjoy the foot spa at the end.

Halle's 9th birthday!!

Our Halle babes turned nine on Wednesday March 2nd!  I love my sweet girl.  This was one of my favorite pictures from her birthday.  When she woke up I let her open her new outfit so she could wear it to school.

When she got home we went just the two of us to get her balloons.  I love this time when I can just focus on her.  She always enjoys reminiscing about the time that I got a ticket on her birthday.  She was only four years old but she still remembers.  

I let her open up another present before her party.  It was the matching outfit for her American Girl doll.  She was so excited!

We had a party for her that night with family.  We were glad to have her great Grant grandparents, Grandma Sue, Grandma Loni, and Aunt Kayley come.

I made Halle a cake with Ballerina shoes.  Halle is such a talented dancer.  She tried out in January for a soloist part in the Spring performance.  She got the roll of pixie dust.  We are looking forward to seeing her perform in May.

Parker helped cover up Halle's eyes for her big birthday surprise.

We got her a new bike.  We also bought her the little basket for the front.  I decorated it with ribbon and flowers to make it cute.  We love our sweet nine year old girl!

Family ski day!

We went skiing at Brighton on Saturday February 27th.  We had a really fun day skiing together!

Hayden went to ski school in the morning and then met up with us at lunch.

Mckenna has improved a lot in her skiing this year.  Kev thinks that she is ready for some poles.

Hayden skied with us at the end of the day.  He is fast!  At one point he skied right by me and said, "see ya later sucker"!!  It made me laugh.  His ski instructor gave him the nickname of "black diamond".  He is our little daredevil.

We went to the top of Snake Creek for our final run of the day.  We had a family ski hug before heading down.  It was definitely a bluebird day.  We all went home happy and sunburned.
