Christmas is here!

 

Addy was excited to see that she got the Quench It Hydro jug for Christmas. She gets 20 percent off her drink order on Tuesdays. 

It was Ollie's first Christmas with us. We got him a stocking that had toys in it. 

Halle got a guitar for her big gift. We can't wait to hear her play. 

Parker got some new ski poles. 

We gave Kenna and Bryson day tickets for Beaver Mountain Ski resort. 

Ollie was happy and content playing with his new toys. 

Kev and I opening some presents. My favorite gift from him was tickets to see a play at Hale Center Theatre. 

It was fun to watch Kenna and Bryson open up their gifts. 

Addy was happy to get her sweatshirt. She knew about it and kept asking to have it before Christmas. 

I thought this shark blanket would be fun for Hayden.

Kenna told me that she wanted a new backpack for Christmas. Her old one is wearing out. She will graduate with her Bachelors degree in May!

Parker and Kev both got Hurley hats for Christmas. It was unplanned and they were from different stores. Parker is looking more and more like his Dad. 

Bryson knows a little bit about guitar. It was sweet of him to show Halle some scales. 

We had our traditional waffle breakfast with lots of Nutella. I love seeing all our kids around the kitchen table. 

We went to Mike and Amy's house for Christmas dinner. I am wearing the new comfy clothes that Kenna and Bryson gave me. I loved spending time with my brother Greg. He sat by me for the longest time. 

It was also sweet to see Parker sitting on Kenna's lap. 

Hailey was feeding Apollo and Ollie some whipped cream. 

It was fun opening up presents from each other. Kayley gave me a  Gilmore Girls blanket and I love it!

Christmas eve

 

Christmas eve did not go the way we had planned. Kev woke up feeling sick and had a bad cough. I encouraged him to go to Instacare. Halle was nice enough to take him. I needed to make the potatoes and cook the ham for the dinner. We found out that Kev had Bronchitis. We missed having him there with us!

Sue didn't have enough tables so she improvised with her ironing board. It made us laugh!

All the kids dogpiled on Hayden. He was a good sport about it though. 

Milo was entertaining all of us. It is funny because in this picture it looks like he's not wearing anything. 

Halle drove up later to join us. Cassie was really happy that she came. 

Addy was happy about the money she got from grandma and grandpa. She pulled it out of a gift box and it was in a long chain. 

I came home and Kev was in our closet wrapping presents. He was supposed to be in bed resting. He has a hard time taking it easy. 

Parker opened up his present from Aunt Teenie. She sent gave him a Mariah Carrey sweatshirt!

The kids opened up their matching pj's and created the human pyramid. 

Bryson read our new book Humphreys Christmas.

We ended the night by watching the Polar Express. 

Parker's 20th birthday!

 

One of Parker's birthday wishes was to sleep in. We had to bribe one of his co-workers to cover his shift. We woke him up with breakfast in bed. 

I was happy that we got to spend the whole day with him. He and I had fun doing our birthday traditions. 

I laughed at how he posed with his balloons. I loved this time just hanging out with him! 

He spotted this fancy sports car while we were out. He has always loved cars and planes!

We took the kids to see the Forgotten Carols. I have made them listen to the music for years. Now they know the storyline behind the music. 

Parker chose to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe afterwards for dinner. 

I can't believe that Parker is 20 now and no longer a teenager. We even drove by the hospital in Orem where he was born. 

He opened up birthday presents when we got home. 

He laughed when he opened up his Bob Ross Chia Pet. 

I made him Oreo freakout for his birthday dessert. We are proud of Parker. He has accomplished many of his goals this year. He started college at BYU and loved cheering on the cougars this season. He has begun working towards his dream of being a pilot. Flying a plane was one of the highlights of his year. I love when he comes home to visit! He brings laughter and happiness to our family! I'm grateful for the genuinely good man that he is! 

December highlights

 

We decorated the Christmas tree on December 1st. Halle got to put the star on top this year. 

This picture makes me smile. It looks like the Christmas tree ate Kev!

Addy dressed up Ollie with a Santa hat and wreath on December 5th. It was fun to take some pictures of him. 

Cody and Kristin invited the family to their house on Sunday December 8th. We had dinner and played games. I love to see the kids have fun with their cousins. We also enjoyed seeing their new house that is being built. 

I asked Kenna what Christmas traditions were important to her. I wanted to include her and Bryson in them while they were visiting. I was surprised to hear that one of them was wrapping. I really appreciated her help!

It made me happy to have all our kids with us for Christmas Sunday! I enjoyed hearing the messages and beautiful musical numbers. I'm thankful for the saviors birth, life, and atonement. I have felt him with me through the trials I have gone through this year. It brings me comfort to know he understands what I'm going through. I know that he is the way to find peace in this life. 

We went to the Grant family Christmas party on Sunday December 22nd. I always enjoy catching up with cousins. We all loved hearing Ken play some Christmas carols on the piano! It is impressive how far he has come since his stroke in the summer.
