Two new cousins!!

We had two new cousins/nephews born into the family this summer! Ethan James Pelfrey was born on July 18, 2010. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long.

Heather went into labor on the day before Mckenna's birthday. Mckenna really wanted her cousin to be born on her birthday. We counted and heather would have to labor 17 hours in order for that to be possible. So we are glad for Heather's sake he was born a day earlier.

Hayden was really happy to meet his new cousin! You can tell by the big smile on his face. It was great to be able to hold our sweet new nephew and visit with Heather and Dan.


Blake Cody Calderwood was born on July 11, 2010! He was 7lbs 6oz and 21 inches long.

We drove up to Park City to see him on the day he was born. Halle was so excited to meet her new cousin. She told us on the way up "today is the day"!!

Parker was happy to have his turn too! I love the pouty little expression on Blakes face.

Hayden and Blake are almost a year apart to the week. Blake was born just six days before Hayden's first birthday. It will be fun to have these two new cousins close to his age.

Last weekend we went to Ethan's baby blessing. It was the first time that all the cousins on the Foster side were all together! The last two months have been exciting with all the babies being born. My cousin Marilee Merell had a baby boy on June 17th. They also named him Ethan. My cousin Stephanie had a baby boy in China and they named him Griffin. Two of Kev's cousins also had babies this last month. I just realized that all six of the babies are boys!

Hayden's first Birthday!!!

Our little man turned one on Saturday!! We had a party for him in our backyard. It was such a fun day!


I liked this serious picture of him. He is adorable even when he is not smiling. Hayden is a very expressive little boy. He is our first child to have Kev's big brown eyes.



He had a good time opening up all his presents. Halle was the one who did most of the unwrapping. She was just as excited as he was.

This was his expression when he opened up this present. He wasn't too thrilled about the new clothes he got. We were all laughing about this one.

I decided to make him a panda cake this year. All the kids were excited to get a piece. They all wanted an eye ball or an ear.

Hayden's friend Brodey helped try out his new toys. Hayden had fun playing the little piano. He is a future musician in the making.

I wanted to take a cute picture of the two of us. He just wanted to pull on my face.

Mckenna is such a good big sister to Hayden. He was so happy when she blew bubbles for him.

Reid Ranch!!

The kids were really excited to be back at the ranch this year. We didn't make it last year because I was a week away from delivering Hayden. The kids look forward to seeing cousin Kyle every year. He is so much fun and they always love to follow him around.

It was Hayden's first experience at the Ranch. He was happy to just walk back and forth along the beds in our room. He was the youngest great grandchild that was at the ranch this year. He enjoyed all the attention he got from everyone.

Great Grandpa carried around a little container full of M&M's for the kids. They loved it and were always coming by to see him.

Mckenna really enjoyed archery this year. It was nice that she was old enough to do it on her own.

Uncle Bruce shared his sweet balloon making skills with all of us. He made this unique spider hat for one of the kids. He had us adults laughing at all his different creations.

We had fun making rockets together as a family. They were easy to make and the body was just made of construction paper. We used an air compressor to launch them off a pvc pipe. I was impressed with how far they went. The highlight for the kids was getting to press the big button to launch the rockets.

The girls had fun on the paddle boats with Grandpa and Grandma! We always get a huge group out on the lake and then play bumper boats.

We had a family picture taken of us out by the lake. It was really beautiful and luckily it wasn't too hot.

Mckenna discovered that she has a talent for sewing. The Aunts were working on baby blankets for a humanitarian project. Mckenna decided to give it a try and loved it. I think she sewed about four blankets.
We had a picture taken of all the family that was at the ranch. We were actually small in numbers this year. I know it doesn't look like that. Several of the cousins were having babies this month or recently had babies. My two sister in laws included. There will be a post about our two cute nephews coming soon.

We took this cute picture of Halle with Great Grandpa as they were walking to dinner. I am so glad that my kids will have these wonderful memories of being with their great grandparents.

The kids were excited to go on their traditional pony ride. Halle got to ride the pony that is named "tramp". She would rather of rode "Lady" but she wasn't saddled up this year.

We decided to try the miniature golf. It was a first for all our kids. Hayden was not too happy to be stuck in the stroller and he let all of us know it. I got a hole in one on the last hole. It was great because I won a candy bar.

I had to include this funny video of the kids. There is an outdoor stage and the kids couldn't resist putting on a performance. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Fun on the Fourth!!

We did a lot of celebrating this year since the fourth was on Sunday. We had activities going on all weekend long. I enjoyed all the patriotic hymns that we sang in church, hearing gratitude expressed for our country, and seeing men dressed if full uniform.

We had a barbecue to celebrate my Dads birthday. The kids and I picked out this great hat for him to wear. Happy Birthday Dad!

We went to the school parking lot to light some fireworks. It wasn't quite dark yet but we had fun.

Kev and I are both pyros! We had fun lighting all the fireworks at the same time.

The next morning we went to the Oakley parade. It is a tradition in Kev's family. I got this picture of the Foster cousins watching the parade. They were looking cute all dressed up in their red, white, and blue.

We all had a great time at the parade. The kids got balloons and collected a lot of candy. They were even throwing out otter pops which is great on such a hot day.

We enjoyed riding the horses at the cabin. Grandma Sue was leading Halle, Aubrey, and Tucker around on Lexi.

The girls really loved the horses this year. Halle and Aubrey wanted to sit on them "all by their self"! They were happy and content just to sit in the saddle.

I always enjoy riding the tractor. It has been in the family for generations.

We went fishing at Smith and Morehouse. We didn't put the hooks on. The kids were happy just to practice casting and reeling. It was nice to cool off in the water. Some of the kids ended up swimming.

Here is a picture of my handsome Hayden. He is such a happy little guy. I can't believe that my baby is turning one this week!

It was Hayden's first experience being around the horses. I love the look of wonder on his little face. He loved looking at the saddle, stroking the horse, and grabbing the reins. He went on his first ride with Daddy and made happy noises the whole ride.

Mckenna's baptism day!!!

Mckenna was baptized on Saturday July 3rd. It was a such a special day for all of us. She was baptized in the same dress that I wore at my baptism.


Mckenna with her Great grandpa and Grandma Grant. She is their first great grandchild to get baptized. Grandpa Grant gave the talk on the holy ghost. He did such a great job helping the girls to understand how to feel the holy ghost.

We had everyone over to the house afterward for brunch. Mckenna loves chocolate so we served chocolate milk, chocolate muffins, and chocolate dipped strawberries!

We were glad that all her grandparents were able to be there!

Grandma Sue made Mckenna this darling quilt! She sewed almost all of it by hand. The colors match perfectly with her bedroom.

It was great to have Mike, Amy, and the twins there. They were visiting from San Francisco and were able to stay for the baptism. It was fun to see Brady and Hailey. They are eighteen months now and are so adorable.

I loved this picture of Mckenna with her Uncle Spencer. It was one of my favorites from the day. We are so proud of Mckenna and all the good choices she has made. We love her very much!
