Prom

 

Halle had her senior prom on Saturday April 26th! She really wanted her boyfriend to take her but he wasn't allowed to because he graduated a year earlier. We bought her this beautiful, sparkly, gold dress. 

Halle and Sienna went and hiked at the suspension bridge in Draper for their day activity. Tessa came that afternoon to do her hair. It was fun having Kenna there to see her off to the dance. 

I LOVE that these beautiful girls all went to prom together and had the best time!

I hired @whiteleygoddardphoto to take their prom pictures. She actually served her mission with Bryson. This field is right around the block from our house. It grows these purple wildflowers every spring. 

I loved how the pictures turned out!

They went and got Monster energy drinks at the gas station. Then they met up with some other friends and ate dinner at Taqueria 27. 

The dance was at The State Capital building. Sienna took this cute picture of Halle. I'm happy she had a great experience at her last dance in high school. 

Ollie and Jarvis

 

We had our first experience dog sitting April 17-20th. Jarvis came to stay with us. I had two dogs wanting my attention instead of just one. It was definitely an adventure! Kev also helped out when he was home. 

Addy entertained Jarvis with his tug rope. Notice his "cinnamon roll" tail. 

I fed them at the same time. Ollie kept trying to eat Jarvis food. I didn't mind if they drank out of the same water bowl. 

Halle loved having two dogs at home! She is the real dog lover of our family. She was giving the boys cheese in this picture. 

Jarvis was a little sad at times. He was missing Alisha and Jeremy. 

It was nice when they both took a nap. 

Parker came home for Easter Sunday. Both dogs wanted his attention. Jarvis was so excited when Alisha and Jeremy picked him up that day!

Easter

 

We had a nice Easter Sunday! I always enjoy the music and messages at church. The missionaries in our stake took this picture for us. We gave them a ride to the next building where they were attending another ward. 

It was nice having Parker home with us for the day!

The kids went looking for their Easter baskets when we got home. 

Andrew came over to see Halle. They worked on our Easter puzzle of Christ. 

We hosted Easter dinner at our house. I used the eggs that the kids dyed as a table centerpiece. 

Andrew joined us for dinner. He got to meet the extended family. 

Addy and Elle enjoyed their egg hunt. Halle even put some eggs on the roof. I also put some dollars bills in the eggs. 

The teenagers look forward to the egg hunt Amy does for them. Some of the eggs were hidden in the trailer hitch of the car. There were Easter themed questions that went along with the game.

I look forward to dressing up for Easter Sunday. I love celebrating holidays!

April highlights

 

We watched conference and had breakfast together on April 6th. It was good to hear the talks and also hear the prophet speak. He announced 15 new temples to be built. One of those will be in Spanish Fork where my friend Kathleen lives. A couple days before conference, Kev and I went to an Endowment session at the Saratoga temple. The apostle, Elder Gerritt W. Gong was in our session! 

Hayden got his first pair of glasses on April 7th. We didn't realize he needed them until they did the vision part of getting his learners permit. I like the frames that he picked out. He looks handsome and grown up!

It was a nice spring day on April 10th. Addy gave Ollie his first popsicle and he loved it. 

Hayden had a doctors appointment on April 11th. I took him to get some food at MoBettahs afterward. His friend Mason was working and we had him come to the window. We embarrassed him good!

Kev gave me Hale Center Theatre play tickets for Christmas. We went to see the play Little Woman. My friend from high school, Claire Kenny, had the role of Marmee. It was incredible to see her shine on stage. She has been performing since high school. I got to meet up with her after the show. I realized that we hadn't seen each other in 26 years! 

Cousin April texted me this pic on April 14th. She and her mom were going through old pictures. It must of been taken when we were dating or first married. I guess I had green frosting on my teeth. It was a blast from our past!

On April 18th we went to Lowes to look for a new porch swing. Ollie came with us. He was happy with all the attention he received. 

I went to dinner with Kathleen on April 19th! We ate at my favorite restaurant Maria Bonita. We were celebrating her birthday that happened on April 1st. I wish we would have taken a picture of the two of us. I'm happy that we have been friends all these years!

Spring Break

 

We drove to St. George on April 2nd for the kids spring break. It rained and even snowed on our way there. Kev said it was the first time he has ever driven the camping trailer in snowy weather. 

We camped at Quail Creek State Park. We stayed here last year and enjoyed it. 

We bought the kids an electric scooter at the start of spring break. They enjoyed zipping around the campsite when the weather was decent. 

We are always happy when we can take Ollie with us on our family adventures. 

Parker and Halle drove down after work and joined us. We had to wait for the rain to let up before going to Red Reef. 

It had been several years since we last hiked there.

It was Ollies first hike with us. He did really well and many people wanted to pet him. 

Parker, Halle, and Kev went exploring farther up the canyon. 

I hung out with Hayden, Addy, and Ollie. 

These were the steps in the wall that you had to take to get over. It looked easier going up than coming back down. 

The next morning it had warmed up a little so we went to Sand Hollow. 

The wind made it feel freezing cold. We also got sand blasted and didn't last very long. 

I think Ollie enjoyed it though. He ran around, played in the water, and ended up with a red beard. 

We decided to find some indoor things to do since the weather was cold.  We went to the Fiesta Fun center. 

Everyone had fun playing the arcade games. It brought back memories of when we had season passes to Trafalga many years ago. 

We were surprised when Hayden won this ball from a claw game. They are always hard to win a prize from. We also went bowling while we were there. Parker's goal was to get a higher score than Kev. He has been taking a bowling class at BYU. His bowling classes paid off and he won his Dad. Parker also had the awesome opportunity to fly an airplane while we were down there. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of his experience. Kev's friend, Aaron, lives in St. George and his his own hangar and planes. His son, Porter, is a flight instructor and took Parker for a flight. They flew over our campground and even flew to Arizona. Parker loved every minute of it! It was really generous of Aaron to make this happen for him!
