June highlights

 

When we got home from St. George on June 8th we had grass in our yard! I have never been more excited to have grass. Our yard is finally coming together and it makes me really happy!

On Friday June 9th we took the kids to the Saratoga Splash Carnival. They had the best time going on all the rides together. It was fun having Parker's girlfriend Kayla there with us too. We also enjoyed watching the Saratoga Splash fireworks from our backyard. 

Cousin Allie was baptized on Saturday June 10th.  It was a beautiful baptism and I'm glad we got to be there. Addy and Allie are the cutest 2nd cousins!

I went to the Parade of Homes on Friday June 24th. I always have fun hanging out with bestie Brekke and Holly. We saw many of the homes in Mapleton. This French Château house was worth over 5 million dollars.  It had an art gallery in the hallway and a private reservoir in the backyard. 

Kathleen and Jacob came over to hang out with us that night.  We went and got cookies and drinks at Twisted Sugar.  Then we went back to our house to enjoy the hot tub.  We love hanging out with them!

On Saturday June 25th we had a Rosen family party at a park in Provo. I'm grateful to my cute cousin Aimee for planning it. She is moving in about a month to Texas.  I loved hanging out with my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins!

Mckenna's 20th birthday

 

Our beautiful daughter Mckenna turned 20 years old on Sunday June 19th.  It also happened to be Father's Day. It was hard not having her home with us. I love this beautiful picture that our cousin April Nielsen took of her before she left on her mission.

Her companion Sister Hurst made this sign and had balloons for her. She also made her German pancakes for breakfast. 

Kenna spoke in church for Father's Day. A nice member gave her this cake, treat, and card. It made me so happy to know that other's went out of their way to make her birthday special for her!

I mailed her birthday package a couple weeks before her birthday and I was glad it made it there in time. I had her open up a couple of the presents in the morning. It was a triple chocolate cake mix, frosting, and sprinkles. She and her companion made the cupcakes and then gave most of them away to friends that day. I love that she did something thoughtful for others on her birthday!

We were so excited to talk with her that afternoon and wish her a happy birthday. I invited some of her friends over to talk with her. She was happy and surprised to see Mike and Emily! I invited Tessa, Jeromy, and Abby but they weren't able to make it. 

Kenna opened up the rest of the presents from us. I found these awesome self inflating balloons that were in the shape of a twenty. Kev sent her from Amazon UK a 12 pack of Mountain Dew. We gave her a new skirt to wear and some other small things. We also made her birthday cards. 

This is one of my favorite pictures of Kenna taken on her mission! I have been thinking back on when she was born 20 years ago. It was one of the most memorable days of my life. I love being her mom! She has many gifts and talents that have blessed our family. I admire her faithfulness, her hard work ethic, her humor, and they way she can eat endless amounts of chocolate. I know she is using her talents to bless the people of England. We miss her so much! We love you Kenna!!

Kevin's birthday

 

Kev turned 43 years old on Friday June 17th.  He went to work that day so we celebrated when he got home. 

The kids were excited to give him the presents they chose out for him.  The gift Kev was most excited about was a water pressure sprayer. He had been wanting one for years. 

We went to dinner at his favorite place JCW's.  Then we went and saw the movie Jurassic World Dominion.  Notice that he is wearing the shirt I gave him for his birthday. It says, "Smokin Hot" with a picture of a meat smoker. 

We came back and had his favorite Dunford Chocolate Donuts for dessert. One of the highlights of the day was that he got to Facetime with Kenna.

The kids surprised Kev with breakfast in bed for Father's Day. I loved how they presented it to him with music and dancing! I'm glad I filmed it on my camera. We had a fun weekend celebrating Kev. He brings a lot of excitement and adventure to our lives! He works hard but he also likes to play hard. We are grateful for all that he does for our family!

Kayley's 21st birthday

 

My sister Kayley turned 21 years old on June 2nd! I can't believe she is an official adult now!

We celebrated her birthday on Sunday June 12th. Dad barbequed some brats and teriyaki beef. I made a gluten free pasta salad for Kayley to eat. 

It was fun watching her open up her presents. We gave her a bath and body works candle, a face mask, and eos lip balm. It was essentially all the things to pamper herself. 

Dad bought her gluten free red velvet cupcakes from The Sweet Tooth Fairy.  We all loved the muddy buddy ice cream that Dad bought. 

We took Dad & Loni's new car out for a spin.  We each took turns driving around. Kayley was behind the wheel in this picture. I love my little sister!

St. George Vacation

 

We went to St. George June 5-8th.  It was our first vacation of the Summer. 

I was happy that Brekke and her family were able to come with us! Our first day we spent at Sand Hollow. I thought it was funny how Phillip is photobombing in the background. 

We mostly had the lake to ourselves. It wasn't even windy in the afternoon which is unusual. Kev, Phillip, and the kids went exploring and found this rock sticking out of the water.  The kids had fun jumping off it into the lake. 

In the afternoon Addy, Brekke, and I went on our nice and slow ride around the lake. 

We were happy to Facetime with Kenna and hear about her week in England. Brekke even got the chance to talk with her. 

I need to give a huge shout out to Phillip for taking all the best pictures of the trip. He got this awesome one of Halle's hair flip!

He also took this one of Parker out there having fun and making some waves. 

Halle was laying out and working on her sun tan. Unfortunately, the kids didn't put on enough sunscreen and got fried. 

Addy looked like a burnt chicken nugget!

The airbnb we stayed at in Washington was nice. It had enough rooms for all of us and places for us to hang out. Phillip cooked some thick bacon for breakfast that morning. 

We decided to not go back to the lake that day. We took the Houpts to Pioneer Park. 

They had never been there before. We went up through the St. George narrows. I was happy that I could still fit through. 

Arwen helped Hayden come out of the "birth canal". 

Brekke took this picture of Kev and I. We went exploring earlier in the day before it got too hot. 

Parker looked like he could be a tour guide ranger with his hat. 

We went to see Brigham Youngs Winter Home. The nicest missionary gave us a tour. He was so excited when he found out that Parker is preparing to serve a mission. He gave him lots of great advice. Just talking with him reminded me of how much I miss my Grandpa Rosen. 

He also insisted on taking a family picture of us at the end of the tour. In the afternoon we went and saw a movie. Kev went with the older kids to see the new Dr. Strange movie. They didn't enjoy it. Addy and I went and saw Maverick for the second time.  We loved it just as much as the first time! It is the best movie of the Summer in my opinion. 

We went to the pool by where we were staying that night. Kev was the only one who got in with the kids. 

I enjoyed putting my feet in the water and hanging out with my bestie. I loved all the time we got to hang out together on this trip!

On our way back the next day we stopped at The Creamery.  It was our first time trying their food and ice cream. It was a great way to end our trip. 

Tessa + Jeromy

 

We were so happy when we found out that Tessa and Jeromy were getting married. Tessa is Kenna's best friend and they have know each other since they were seven years old.  We also lived next to the Olson's for many years. 

We went to Tessa's wedding shower on Saturday May 7th. We had the best time at her shower. There was delicious food. I loved hearing the stories of how they met and how he proposed. We played a game to find out how well we know Tessa and Jeromy.  Halle got the top score and won a prize. We knew Kenna would be proud of her. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Ashlee and Anna! 

It was fun to see some of Kenna's best friends such as Abby Udy and Rylee Mendoza. 

I asked Kenna what she would like to get Tessa for a shower gift. She told me she wanted to give Tessa a Beta Fish in memory of their fish they shared in high school. We told Tessa the fish was named "Rick Jr"!  She was very surprised and loved it! 

Tessa and Jeromy got married on Friday June 3rd. Our old neighbor Clint Udy married them. They had their reception that night at the Startup building in Provo. 

Abby and Amy were there getting drinks for everyone. I had Dr. Pepper with coconut and raspberry. 

I was really happy to see Macy Udy. She had gotten home from her mission to California a few months ago. Macy was one of my favorite Mia Maids a few years ago. She is also seriously dating someone too. 

It was good to see Kenna's friend Annie Gordon.  We hadn't seen her in years. We lived next to the Gordons for many years. 

We took a picture of our family with Tessa and Jeromy.  Tessa was such a beautiful bride! We are happy for them both!

Bryson came up from St. George for the reception. It was fun having him there with us! Kenna told me that she was jealous that he got to be there when she couldn't. I know that not being there was really hard for her. We all tried to take lots of pictures and send them to her.

Addy and Halle both wanted to catch the bouquet. One of Tessa's friends ended up catching it. 

Halle took this picture of Tessa and Jeromy dancing together. After this the dance party began. Parker even went out and danced with everybody. 

The Olson family really knows how to party! I took this video of the Conga line as it went by. We had the best time celebrating with them!
