Our Valentines day!!

Kev and I really enjoyed our evening out with no kids.  It had been awhile since we had time with just the two of us.  We went to eat at the Harvest restaraunt. It has become one of our favorite places to eat.  We have liked every dish that we have tried there.  The atmosphere is always elegant too.

We had some time after dinner so we walked around Thanksgiving point. We decided to walk through the solarium.  It was nice to see green plants and trees.  There are not many places in Utah where you can see palm trees in February. We went and saw the movie "the vow".  We both enjoyed the movie.  It really does make you grateful for your spouse and all the memories you have together.  I always enjoy movies even more when they are based on a true story.  It seems like that was the movie to see for Valentines this year.  I later found out that two of my other friends went and saw it as well.

The exciting news of our Valentine's day is that we got a new nephew!  Austin Ryan Pelfrey was born at 6:37 p.m.  He weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.  He got off to a rough start and had some perforations in his lungs.  He stayed in the NICU for a week but is home now. He is still on oxygen but is doing better now.  It is fun for Addy to have a cousin so close to her age!

So sweet....

The week before Valentine's day Mckenna asked me if she could take some of her money to school.  I asked her what she wanted to buy with the money.  I was really surprised when she told me that she wanted to buy Parker a valogram.  I thought that was so sweet of her.  Parker came home with a big smile on his face and blue lips from the sucker that came with it.  She really made his day.  I love it when my kids do thoughtful things for each other.

Someday...

One of Kev's dreams is to have our own boat someday.  He really wanted to go to the boat show at the South Town Expo Center.   We are not in the market to buy one but he wanted to "just browse".   I decided to go with him and we made a date of it.

I actually had a good time and learned more about boats.  We got a kick out of this boat with angry bird decals on the side.  It is the new slogan for Mastercraft boats. 

Here is a picture of me to document that I was there.  Addy came with us too and slept the whole time in the carrier.  It was fun actually climbing in the boats to check them out.  It is amazing how much they can fit in such a small space.  This one had a bathroom, sink, burners, couch/bed.

Here is Kev checking out all the controls.  This boat was top of the line.  It costs almost as much as our entire house. They had some million dollar houseboats at the show as well.  I can now say that I have been aboard a houseboat.  I just need to have the experience of being on one in the water.

We got a picture of us together by these 40 foot cruiser yachts.  It was fun to get out together and enjoy something new.

Now that's more like it!!

We finally got some good snow.  A couple weekends ago we headed up to the cabin.  Kev had the Friday off so we let the kids skip school and took off for the weekend.  It was great because there was some powder to play in.  Mckenna pulled this icicle off the cabin.  It was almost as big as her.

Our family has grown so much that we can't even fit on two snowmobiles.  This is how we get around now with the sled on the back.

Addy even came out with us and had her first snowmobiling experience.  She enjoyed it and fell fast asleep in Dad's arms. 

Mckenna has earned the privilege of riding the snowmobiles by herself.  We set up some rules and she was off.  She was so happy to ride by herself.

Halle and Addy warming up in the cabin.  They were watching the movie snow white together.  I had a great time watching Halle's facial expressions as she watched the movie.  I still think that Addy looks alot like Halle.

On Friday we went to pick up Aubrey and Tucker to bring them up for the rest of the weekend.  The kids had a lot of fun sledding.  We found a new spot for them to try out.

Tucker sledding down head first. They enjoyed catching some air at the bottom of the hill.  He also found that his coat worked just as good as the sled.  It was funny watching how far he got without the sled.

You can see all the tracks that we made over the weekend.  We really had a good time.

It was our second weekend with seven kids.  It was a lot of work bundling them up and then five minutes later someone would have to go to the bathroom.  It was always at different times too.  I am glad that Kev and I agree that five kids is enough for us.

Fun with cousins!!

We had my niece and nephew come spend the weekend with us.  We took all the kids to the Dinosaur museum.  It was a good opportunity to use our pass since it expires next month.  They always have something new in the discovery room.  It is fun for the kids to learn more about science through hands on experiments.  I really liked this one of Parker.  He looks so small staring up in wonder at that big flag waving.

The kids really liked this one that taught them about centrifugal force.  I thought it was funny how Tucker was putting his whole body into it.

Tucker and Parker had fun at this station together.  You peddle to create friction which powers the light.

They all took turns getting the pendulums to sway back and forth.

We always enjoy seeing the dinosaur bones.  Aubrey wanted her picture taken by this giant foot.

The sand always entertains all of them.  Mckenna created this island for the girls to play on.

The older kids with the t-rex.  It is fun that both Parker and Halle have cousins so close to their age.  You can see in the picture that they are close in height too.  We  took turns weighing them on the Dino scale. It was funny because Parker and Tucker almost weigh the same too. 

It wouldn't be a complete trip to the museum without excavating for the dino bones.  Tucker and Mckenna were hard at work.  The kids thought it was fun having the cousins with us all weekend!
