State Ballroom Competition

 

Kev went with two of the kids up to the cabin for the weekend. It was the Grant family snowmobiling party. Halle stayed home with me since she had a ballroom competition the next day. We went to eat at Kneaders on Friday night before she had to be at the competition.  The event this year was hosted at our high school. 

Halle had to be there at 6 the next morning. I got there around eleven to volunteer.  I enjoyed working at the ticket area.  I stayed busy scanning online tickets, helping people purchase tickets, stamping hands, and helping people pay for auction items. It was fun to get to know some of the other dance moms. I even saw Aunt Elise and Uncle Kelly come in the doors! It was fun to catch up with both of them. Not long after I got there Halle received an award!

Halle and her partner got fifth place out of 76 people for the Cha Cha! It was her first time getting an award. We are all so happy for her!

I got to watch her compete in the Junior Latin Showdance. She was front and center for most of the dance. 

Her team ended up getting first place in this event and got a big trophy!

The next dance they had recently learned. It was fun to watch and see their costumes. 

I ran out before the dinner break to get some food for Halle. She really wanted Mcdonalds and specifically a Dr. Pepper.  

That night the kids had a dance break in-between competition numbers.  They created a conga line around the gym floor.  It was great to see them having such a fun time! Our high school did an awesome job of hosting the event and raising money.  Our ballroom teams had a successful competition!

Presidents Day

 

We went up to the cabin for Presidents Day.  The kids had the day off from school. Spence, Megan, and Ayla were up there too. 

We were all excited to hold cute Ayla again.  Mckenna even got to see Ayla when she Facetimed us that day! It just happened to be her p-day. 

Spence asked me to watch Ayla while he and Megan went snowmobiling. I was happy to watch her! 

She started to get a little fussy so I changed her diaper.  The girls sang her a lullaby and she calmed right down.  It was so sweet to hear them sing to her! They are both going to be the best mother's someday. 

Spence brought up his razor and Kev and I took it out for a ride. 

The kids enjoyed playing in all the snow.  We don't have any snow at our house right now.  Addy is even old enough to drive around by herself in the field.  We stopped at ate at a new burger place in Kamas on the way home.

Snowmobiling adventure

 

Kev and I went snowmobiling during the day on Friday February 18th.  We rode up above Tibble Fork.

We had gone a few miles when my snowmobile overheated and the belt burned.  We pulled my snowmobile over to the side of the trail and I hopped on with Kev. 

We decided to take the trail to Pittsburg Lake. Somewhere along the way we got off the trail.  Kev decided to go up a steep slope. I was holding on for dear life!  When we got to the top I didn't want to go back down on the snowmobile.  So I slid down the steep slope on my bum.  Kev later apologized for scaring me. 

We made it back down the hill to my snowmobile.  Kev tied it up to his and towed me the rest of the way back to the car.  It was one of our more adventurous dates.  We still managed to have fun though. 

Be My Valentine

 

Addy came up with the idea of a donut for her Valentine's day box.  Kev helped her cut out a circle of a round cookie tin we had.  I helped her decorate it with paper and stickers. She had the best time at her class party.  

Parker came home from school and surprised me with this lemon cream cupcake.  He made it in his Prostart class.  It was really sweet of him!

I went to my bestie Brekke's galentines party.  We did flower arranging for our activity this time. I love spending time with these beautiful women. It was great to catch up with Holly and Sherry.  I haven't seen them as much since we moved. 

Parker went to the Sweethearts dance with Kayla on Saturday February 12th.  He looked so handsome all dressed up!

We made Kenna homemade Valentine's cards and sent her a package.  She was happy to get her Mountain Dew and Goldfish crackers.  These are both things she can't get in England.  She also got to call and talk with us on Valentine's Day.  We love our Sister Foster!!

Kev surprised me with these beautiful red roses! We went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants called Red Rock.  It was our 21st Valentine's together. It was a fun night out with just us. I'm grateful that I get to experience life with him.  His support, strength, and love are what I need in my life!

Super bowl Sunday

 

Mike and Amy invited us over to their house to watch the Super bowl on Sunday February 13th.  Their theater room was the best place to watch the game. 

When we got there Brady was cooking the queso on the grill.  It turned out delicious!

We had every snack you could imagine. Mike even made smoked mac n cheese.  He used our recipe but added some gouda cheese. 

I made a fruit pizza to bring at Mike's request.  I normally make one for the 4th and it was fun trying a different design. Kev also smoked our favorite jalapeno poppers.  Addy ate one that was so spicy that it brought her to tears.  Brady was sweet and ran and got her a cup of milk. 

Grandma and Grandpa brought over 70 buffalo wings.  The boys couldn't get enough of them. 

Halle feel asleep while watching the game. I don't blame her because the theater room couches are really comfortable. 

Amy took this picture of Mike and I.  We always have the best time at their house.  We talked about making this a new family tradition.
