St. George getaway

We drove to St. George on Thursday June 27th for a couple of days.  Mckenna and Parker were both at High Adventure for the week.  It was over a 100 degrees when we got there so we decided to go to a movie.

We were the first ones in the theater and the kids enjoyed putting their feet up until the theater filled. We all loved the movie.  I was skeptical at first but loved it just as much as the other three.

We went to walk around the St. George temple grounds. The flowers at the temple were beautiful!

Kev took a picture of just us girls.  Hayden was not in the mood to have his picture taken.  A missionary there told us that they will start temple renovations starting in November.  We always think of Grandpa and Grandma Foster when we are there since that is the temple they were sealed at. 

The kids enjoyed swimming at the hotel pool. I taught the girls how to put their hair in a turban.

We spent all day Friday at Sand Hollow.  The kids had a great time playing in all the red sand.

We found a rock shoal while we were out exploring.

Kev used some of his birthday money to buy this tube from Costco. It was our first time trying it out.

It feels like sitting on a floating couch.  Halle and Hayden both loved to go fast and get some air.  It was fun to hear them laughing as we pulled them around.

There were lots of people cliff jumping while we were there. We drove the wave runners over to watch them.

We ate dinner at Cafe Rio that night.  It is one of favorite places to eat with the family.

Once it started to cool off we went to a local park we had heard about. 

Kev even joined the kids on this cool teeter totter.  It was fun for us to getaway for a couple of days!

Manti Pageant

We went to the Manti Pageant on Thursday June 20th. We were happy that Mckenna was back from her leadership retreat and was able to come with us.

The weather forcast showed a high probability of rain so we came prepared.

It started to rain as we waited for the show to start.  We were very grateful for ponchos and blankets to keep us warm!

It rained most of the show.  The sun did come out for a moment and there was a beautiful rainbow.  We always enjoy watching the pageant together. We are sad that this is the last year.  I have been coming to watch the pageant since I was a little girl.  It is always memorable to be with our family at the temple we were married at.

Mckenna is 17

Mckenna turned 17 years old on Wednesday June 19th!

She was at a student council retreat again for her birthday this year.  It was at Utah State again.  Their school was supposed to dress up all in gold.  Mckenna went all out on her costume!  She even stayed up until 1 in the morning the night before she left sewing this gold shirt. 

We celebrated her birthday went she got home.  We went and got balloons, a waffle, and did some birthday shopping.  

We had a family party for her on Sunday June 23rd.  She and Halle had fun looking through her photo albums. 

Mckenna got a blue tooth plug in for her car, Guardians mixed tape music, Nike shoes, leggings, and an Under Armour travel bag. She has already put her bag to good use with all the traveling she has done this Summer.

She was happy to have all her grandparents at her party.

We had Nutella cake with ice cream for dessert.  It was nice and we were able to eat outside on our deck. We love Kenna!  We are happy with the good things she is doing with her life.  She continues to work hard at everything she puts her mind to.  She has accomplished a lot this last year.  It's hard to believe she will be a senior in high school this Fall.  We are grateful for all the fun and happiness she brings to our family!

The big 4-0!!

Kev turned 40 years old on Monday June 17th!  I convinced him to take the day off from work. I had the whole day planned with some of the things he loves.  The first surprise was going to play at the lake.

We almost had the whole lake to ourselves.  We even got out the tube to pull the kids around on.

Addy helped me choose out this Marvel shirt for him to wear.  Then we went to JCW's for lunch.  He never can get enough of their Jalapeno burger, fries, and shakes.  Mckenna and Halle also gave him a gift card there for his present. We all know it's his favorite!

We came home and had  Dunford Chocolate Chocolate donuts for dessert.

Parker watched the kids so Kev and I could go for a four wheeler ride.  We even went exploring in the fields to where they are going to build the new temple. 

Then we came back and he opened the rest of his presents.  He was most excited about his gas powered leaf blower.  We are grateful for all that Kev does for our family. He works harder than anyone I know. He is always there for us.  He willingly makes sacrifices so the rest of us can have more. Kevin is the best! I love my husband!

Summer Fun

Mckenna was in a local parade on Saturday June 15th.  She was representing the student council for the 2019-2020 school year.  We had fun cheering for her!

Addy and Halle had fun dancing in the street before the parade started.

The kids had fun waving at the firetruck and shouting for candy.  Kev and I couldn't believe how much candy they got.  The also got t-shirts, toothbrushes, band aids, frisbies, and glowsticks. It was good advertising for our local businesses. 

We took a picture of this Lightning McQueen car to show Parker. He had a mountain biking practice that morning and couldn't be there. 

I was so excited when I saw the Crumbl cookie truck coming up the road!  I got out of my chair and shouted and cheered.  It was all worth it when I got a card for a free Crumbl cookie.  I tried the coconut lime one the next week.  I openly admit that I'm obsessed with Crumbl cookies!

We went to Seven Peaks later that day.  We were happy it opened back up again this Summer.  We even bought season passes.  

Hayden is the dare devil in our family.  He went on this free fall twice.  It was a fun Summer day with the fam!

YW Camp!

Mckenna and Halle left for YW camp on Monday June 10th! I was excited for them to have this experience together. The theme this year was "Arise and Shine Forth".

The stake was in charge of camp this year and they went to the Heber Valley Camp.  It was Halle's first time going to camp! She said, "it was a really fun and spiritual experience . I loved having Maddi and Kenna there with me! It was full of laughs. I wouldn't have it any other way."

My friend Kristen Baker went to camp with her daughter Maddi.  She took a lot of these great pictures for me.

Halle was introduced to the awesome camp songs.  Her favorite was, "I'm a nut" and "Noahs song". 

This is one of my favorite pictures of Halle from camp.  I love how happy she looks!  I had several YW tell me how much they loved getting to know Halle at camp.  They said she was so kind and sweet.  I also heard that she was an expert at making scrunchies.  She made hers fast and then helped the other girls.  It made my mom heart happy to hear this!

I let Mckenna take my big camera up to camp.  She was a YCL this year and worked hard to prepare and carry out camp.  Her friend Abby was her secret sister this year.  She gave Mckenna squirrel underwear as one of her gifts.  Kenna loved it!  I'm not going to post a picture of that.  Some things that happen and camp should stay at camp!  I did hear many stories from other people about "Kenna and her squirrel underwear."

It is tradition at camp to wash each other's hair.  It was sweet that Kenna  washed Halle's hair for her.  

I'm grateful to their leaders for all the time and preparation that they put into camp for my girls.  I know the sacrifices that are made because I was once a YW leader myself.
