Ski season

Our kids were really looking forward to skiing. We had bought them their own gear in the fall.  A couple Saturdays ago we took the kids to Brighton.  It was Parker's first time skiing.  We dropped Parker and Halle off for lessons in the morning. 

It was Halle's second time at ski school.  She continues to enjoy it and has improved.

Mckenna spent the day skiing with Kev and I.  It was a lot of fun.  She did really good.  Kev coached her on a few different things during the day.  

We all met up and had lunch together.  It was great to hear them talk with excitement about all the things they were learning.

Parker and Halle had another ski lesson the second half of the day.  Then we picked them up to do one last run together.

We took them on Mary's run. I know Kev was so happy to have three of his kids skiing with him.  Parker really surprised us with how fast he picked it up.  He skied  right down the hill and didn't fall once.

A week later was Kev's company ski day.  We got a awesome deal on lift tickets and a BBQ lunch.  We spent the day skiing at Snowbasin.

It was a first for both of us at this resort.  The views from up on the mountain were beautiful.

Kev is always finding hills to jump off of.  He got about two feet off the ground on this one.  The pictures don't do it justice.  We had a fun day together,  The kids were jealous that we went without them,

No more diapers!

I attempted to potty train Addy back in November.  I used the three day method I had used for Halle and Hayden.  It did not go so well.  The look on Addy's face says it all.  On the third day she had had it and so had I.

It was a very long week.  The only time Addy was sweet was when she was sleeping.  I decided to wait until after the holidays to try again.

 

The second attempt went much better.  She got the hang off it and was happy about it.  I was so happy too!  We have been buying diapers for the last 12 and a half years.  I am so glad that we are done with potty training for good.  I am so proud of Addy!  She hasn't had an accident in over a week now.

New years day

We went to Trafalga on New years day!  We use the money our grandparents give us for Christmas to buy our passes each year.  This is our third year of buying the pass.  We really enjoy it.  It is always nice to have somewhere to go that we don't have to pay.  It is our place we go on a rainy day.  One of our favorites is glow in the dark mini golf.  It usually is chaos when all of us are playing but we have fun.  Mckenna always laughs at my glowing teeth and hair highlights when I am under the blacklights.

The frog hopper ride is another favorite.  Parker is throwing his hands up in the air.  Hayden is looking up waiting for it to drop.  Addy is still waiting to be tall enough to ride.

 



Halle is our child who loves to climb.  She always takes advantage of the rock wall when we are there.

Halle, Addy, and Hayden all coming down the slide and laughing hysterically.  We also used our passes during the break to go see a movie.  We saw Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  I have been reading the book to my kids for years.  They were excited to see the movie.  We all enjoyed it!  It was a funny show about family.  It was so great that the kids didn't have to go back to school until the fifth of January.  Kev had the whole time off too!  We enjoyed our lives free from schedules and just having time at home.

Snow days at the cabin!

We went up to the cabin for a few days to spend time with Kev's family and enjoy all the snow.  It is an awesome snow year!

Halle and Aubrey had a fun time playing with their American girl dolls.  I can't believe they are both turning eight in a couple of months.

We woke up to beautiful blue skies at the cabin the next morning.

In the afternoon Kev, Spence, and I went up to Smith and Morehouse to snowmobile.

 

We rode through the pine trees until we reached our favorite spot at Mud flat.

 

It is a great place to enjoy all the powder.  I hopped off the snowmobile and took pictures while Kev and Spence played.

I used my telephoto lens to get some good shots when they were far away.  It was so cold that day! It was less then 10 degrees at the elevation we were at.

 

Our last morning there we loaded up the cousins in the sleigh to take them sledding.

 

The kids looked like little ants going up and down the hill.

 

My camera overexposed the pictures because it was so bright outside.  I like how they turned out.

Mount Timpanogos looked beautiful as we were driving home! I am so glad we live in Utah and get to enjoy the snow and beautiful scenery whenever we feel like it.
