Halle's 18th birthday

Halle's birthday was on a Sunday this year so we went and did some of our birthday traditions earlier. She had fun picking out her balloons. I gave her a letter to open up. I wrote it to "my daughter" when I was about her age. She enjoyed reading it and talking about it with me.

We went and got her birthday waffle. She didn't want to cooperate for a picture. She doesn't always enjoy getting her picture taken.
We also went and did some prom dress shopping. We went to The Bridal Center again where we got her prom dress last year. This is not the dress that we bought. We ended up buying a gold sparkly one. I can't wait to see her wear it to prom next month! It was a little sad knowing that this was the last time we would go dress shopping while she is in high school.

Halle officially turned 18 on Sunday March 2nd. We let her sleep in and surprised her with breakfast in bed.
We smoked pizzas for dinner that night. Her favorite is the chicken Mediterranean delite.

I made her chocolate cake and frosting on Saturday. Then I made the chocolate strawberries on Sunday to put on top.
Halle actually took a bite out of her cake before we served it. Funny girl!

She got lots of fun presents. Kenna and Bryson gave her this pepper spray. It made her smile. You can see her cute nails in this picture. She got them done for one of her birthday gifts.

She took her Grandpas blood pressure at her party. It is part of her EMT homework. My dad pretended like he was having a heart attack.

It was nice of Kenna and Bryson to come home for the weekend. I know Halle loved having them around. They even went hot tubbing with Halle and her boyfriend Andrew on Saturday. She also took their blood pressure. Bryson took his role playing seriously. It made us all laugh!

Halle got her birthday wish and had beautiful spring weather for her day. We love our Halle! She has accomplished many of her goals this year. I love how passionate she is about becoming an EMT. She puts her heart into everything that she does. I love all of the fun memories we have together! I love being her mom!
